Dual Voice Coils: Allows a variety of impedances to be configured. One speaker can be wired for a 2 or 8 ohm load.

Acrylic Coated Spruce Pulp Paper Cone: The cone is made with spruce pulp paper. This provides the necessary combination of weight and strength for high levels of output without cone breakup. The cone is treated with a thermally cured acrylic emulsion that seals the cone body, resulting in increased cone rigidity and lower distortion.

BART Foam Surround: The large roll of the BART foam surround ensures maximum cone travel, resulting in more bass.

LXcursion Basket: The new Punch LXcursion basket features a deep step in the basket that allows the cone to travel further without the spider hitting the bottom of the basket, resulting in more boom.

Vented and Bumped Back Plate: The back plate has been stepped deeper to allow the woofer more room for excursion without bottoming out. This enables the speaker to be used in a smaller enclosure. Additionally, the back plate is vented with a radiused aerodynamic back vent which efficiently and quietly circulates cool air around the voice coil. By keeping the voice coil cooler, power handling is improved.

Hyper-Extended Pole Piece: The pole piece has been extended to provide a more linear magnetic field for woofer operation. This lowers distortion and provides the woofer with better low frequency response.

L-xtended Voice Coil:  The L-xtended winding coils allow the voice coil to stay in the magnetic gap longer, resulting in less distortion and more control. Combine the L-xtended coil with the hyper-extended pole piece and the result is a huge magnetic sweet spot and deeper, louder, cleaner bass.

Voice Coil Former: The voice coil former is aluminum for highly efficient heat transfer. This allows the use of multiple layers of high temperature copper windings for improved efficiency and improves power handling by effectively dissipating heat away from the voice coil windings.

Voice Coil Diameter: The woofer is made with a 2.5" voice coil.

Flat Progressive Dual Laminated Spider: A flat progressive dual laminated spider is used to provide a stronger suspension for the woofer. A secondary spider is fused to the primary spider near the critical voice coil bonding point. The combination of the two spiders, in addition to the progressive rolls in the spiders, provides the ultimate in linear control for high excursion capability.

Concealer Gasket: A newly designed front gasket conceals mounting screws and provides an airtight seal between the woofer frame and the mounting surface. A better seal increases the amount of bass due to elimination of air leaks. When the gasket is used the following dimensions change:

• Top Mount: 5.675"
• Frame Width/Length: 10.471"
• Flange Height: 0.445"

Special Features

Power Handling: The RMS and peak power specs listed under the specs tab are for both voice coils combined. Each voice coil is rated to handle 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak.

Box Type/Volume: The woofer is designed to work best in a small, sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.75 cubic feet, or a ported box of 1.0 cubic feet (port dia 3", port length 13.25", tuned at 35Hz).
