Advanced drivers deliver the Boston sound you love
The A 26 features Boston's 1" Kortec® soft dome tweeter for clear, crystalline highs. The advanced ceramic/glass fiber polymer woofer uses Boston's Deep Channel Design® to deliver more bass response per watt of amplifier power. The crossovers in all A Series speaker models incorporate low-loss capacitors and low-distortion cores for the inductors. It means you'll hear every note in your music with minimum distortion.

Thoughtful cabinet design
This speaker's cabinet design also features vertical and horizontal internal bracings to reduce unwanted resonance that can muddy the sound. Plus, as part of Boston's A Series of speakers, the A 26 features modern styling with a stunning high-gloss, scratch-resistant cabinet, a textured top panel for contrast, and a convenient magnetic grille.

Driver Technology

A-Series Bookshelf: The Boston Acoustics A-Series bookshelf loudspeaker (A 26) incorporates high-quality components that produce the legendary Boston Sound. The A-Series bookshelf loudspeaker is ideally suited for use in a high-quality multichannel home theater or stereo music system.

2-Way Speaker System: The Boston Acoustics A-Series bookshelf loudspeaker features a two-way design that employs a single 6.5" woofer paired with a single 1.0" soft-dome tweeter.

1" Kortec Soft-Dome Tweeter: The Boston Acoustic A 26 features Boston's 1" Kortec soft-dome tweeter for crystalline high frequencies.

6.5" DCD Woofer: The Boston Acoustics A 26 bookshelf loudspeaker is fitted with a single 6.5" ceramic/glass fiber polymer woofer with Deep Channel Design (DCD) that allows for higher speed, reduced distortion, and improved sensitivity. As a result the A 26 delivers more bass response from less amplifier power.

Crossover Network: The crossover components in the A 26 incorporate low-loss film capacitors and low-distortion laminated silicon steel cores for the inductors in all critical areas. The tweeter and woofer are crossed over at 2,400 Hz.

Enclosure Design

Bass Reflex Enclosure: The Boston Acoustics A-Series bookshelf loudspeaker (A 26) features a bass reflex enclosure with a rear-firing acoustically tuned port for improved low frequency response and efficiency.

Scratch Resistant, Resonance Free Cabinet: The Boston Acoustics A 26 bookshelf loudspeaker features a high-gloss, scratch-resistant cabinet with a textured top and magnetic grille for a modern styling that will match most any decor. Vertical and horizontal internal bracings reduce cabinet resonances for enhanced audio quality.

Connections

Binding Posts: Gold-plated binding posts provide hook-up flexibility and the purest signal transfer. The binding posts will accept bare wire (up to 12-gauge), pin connectors, spade connectors, and banana plugs (single only).

Note: The binding posts are spaced to far apart to accommodate dual banana plugs.

Color-Coded: The speaker's binding posts are color-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.

Mounting Options

Rubber Feet: The Boston Acoustics A-Series bookshelf loudspeaker (A 26) includes four self-adhesive rubber feet for safe and secure placement on a table-top, shelf, or, stand, other AV furniture. The rubber feet add 0.125" of height to the bookshelf speaker.

Wall Mounting: The A 26 bookshelf loudspeaker is fitted with a single keyhole slot to wall mount the speaker to a wall stud (mounting screw not supplied). Two self-adhesive rubber bumpers are included to attach to the rear of the speaker to prevent marring of your wall.

Note: The optional PinPoint heavy duty side-grip wall-mounting bracket (121AM40B, sold separately) can also be used to wall mount the speakers.

Customer Q&A

Q
I want to use these as satellite speakers. Is there a mounting bracket spec'd for this cabinet?

I am not aware of M-L offering a bracket for these speakers, although I'm sure a 3rd party bracket could be used but would be careful not to damage the nice finish. I use LX16's as rear surrounds and despite limited dispersion, I have been satisfied.

We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.
