I installed a pair of these in my 08 Ram pickup (replacing stock front speakers). Right now, I am just using the base stock non-nav head unit. Sound much better than stock. Good investment. The connectors from Crutchfield work pretty well. Beware of power windows hitting the new wiring.

I have a 2006 Toyota 4Runner. After quite some investigating and going back and forth I spoke with a rep who steered me to these speakers to go with my JVC KW XG500. I am running these without an amp. So I purchased these speakers with a pair of 6.5" Boston Acoustics S65RC. Heres some things to note about the the SL95 6x9:

1) I changed one side of the vehicle to compare the sound with the other side. They sounded weak and I was going to pull them out, but I decided to give them a fair chance. It was only once I changed them all (front and rear) that I got the full sound, range and dynamics. I was impressed with the clarity and the fullness of the sound. I could here things in the music I couldnt hear before.

2) The Cruthfield supplied wire harness adapter fit the vehicle plug just fine but the positive and negative plugs did not fit the speaker connectors. They were too small. I had the correct size plugs, so I cut the adapter ends and crimped on the new plugs. I don't think Crutchfield is aware of this yet.

3) I initially found the speakers to be a little bass shy even with the bass adjustment up to full. As I was playing the music, the sound got better and better. I was able to get a nice full rounded sound from them. They still need some "break in time".

All in all, I would recommend these speakers. I am pretty happy so far. And also, you cant beat Crutchfields service. They will bend over backwards for you.
