Product Research

Features

Overview: The Fujifilm VPB-XH1 is a Vertical Power Booster Grip for the X-H1 camera. It can be used to supplement the camera battery, and to provide a better grip for holding the camera in the portrait (tall) orientation.

Battery Capacity: The VPB-XH1 will accept two NP-126S batteries in its removable tray. When installed in the X-H1, the camera's battery capacity is nearly tripled. By itself, the camera (with one NP-126S) has a battery life of approximately 310 shots using the LCD (300 with the Viewfinder). The number of shots increases to approximately 900 (LCD) and 870 (EVF) in normal mode when the VPB-XH1 is attached. With the grip installed, the camera's battery level display will show the camera battery level, and the level of each of the two batteries in the grip. With all three batteries installed, the left battery in the grip will be used until no charge remains, followed by the right battery, and finally by the camera battery.

AC Adapter: The Vertical Power Booster Grip includes an AC-9VS AC adapter for charging the inserted batteries. The adapter can charge the vertical grip's two batteries at the same time in about 2 hours.

Boost Mode: When the power-booster grip is attached, you can switch on the camera's Boost Mode. The Boost Mode improves shutter response, shortening the release lag from 50ms to 45ms. The Boost Mode also increases the maximum frame rate from 8 fps to 11 fps during continuous shooting. Use of the Boost Mode will decrease battery life.

Extended Movie Shooting: The VPB-XH1 increases the maximum period for shooting movies in 4K and Full HD. Without it, the maximum 4K movie you can record is approximately 10 minutes, and Full HD movies cannot exceed 15 minutes. The Vertical Power Booster Grip extends the maximum individual movie recording time to approximately 30 minutes for both 4K and FHD.

Controls: The VPB-XH1 has an extra set of control that can be used when the camera is in the Portrait or "Tall" orientation. Controls include a shutter-release button, focus lever, AE-L button, AE-ON button, command dial, Q button, and Fn button. These buttons have the same functionality as the corresponding buttons in horizontal orientation.

Headphone Jack: The VPB-XH1 provides a 3.5mm headphone jack, when installed on the camera. This allows you to monitor audio while you are recording video. The menu will allow you to vary the volume of the headphone output from 1 to 10, or mute the headphones.
