About the JVC KD-PDR30
You've got so many audio choices these days isn't it nice when somebody makes things simpler? JVC's got the right idea with the KD-PDR30 CD receiver. Its built-in iPod controls let you connect and control your iPod from the receiver. No fumbling around for your player when you're changing playlists or looking for a favorite tune you'll control everything from the receiver's faceplate, and view song, artist, and track information on the bright, easy-to-read display.
Sound quality doesn't take a back seat to convenience. The high-quality digital-to-analog converter teams up with a powerful internal amp for clean, accurate sound, and the versatile equalizer lets you adjust the highs, mids, and lows to match the sonic contours of your car.
The KD-PDR30 sports a handy front-panel auxiliary input for connecting a plug-and-play satellite radio or another portable player, and plays MP3 and WMA files you've burned onto disc. Two sets of preamp outputs offer a convenient connection for your external amps, while the user-friendly remote lets you keep your eyes on the road while you're surfing through your tunes.

Features
MP3/WMA Playback: The KD-PDR30 can play MP3/WMA files that have been recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc must be recorded in one of the following formats: ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet or Romeo. You can directly access folders numbered 01-12 (they must be assigned two-digit numbers when recorded). Each disc can have a maximum of 8 folder hierarchies, 200 folders, and no more than a total of 512 files and/or folders on each disc.
Amplifier: The JVC CD player features a CEA-2006 compliant MOS-FET 20 Watts RMX x 4-channel amplifier in 4ohms at 1% THD+N with an 80 dBA signal-to-noise-ratio.
Super Bass: Super Bass maintains the richness and fullness of the bass sound regardless of how low you set the volume. The Super Bass can be turned on or off in the Sound Adjustment menu, and the level adjusted between 1 and 5.
Intelligent Equalizer (i-EQ): In addition to manual bass, midrange, and treble settings (-6dB to +6dB), this unit also has six selectable preset tone control and Super Bass setting combinations. Each of the sound modes may be adjusted to your preference and stored in memory. The preset Intelligent Equalizer modes are:
Preferred Setting Mode: By activating the Preferred Setting Mode (PSM), you can set the clock, choose the time zone and daylight saving time, select the dimmer mode, select the external component type (changer or line input), turn on/off ID3 Tag display, switch between US standard and European tuning spacing, set the Amplifier Gain control (high/low), and several other operational settings.
Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-PDR30 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.
Direct Track Access: You can directly access CD tracks 1-12 by pressing the station preset buttons. If a preset button is pressed for less than 1 second, the track corresponding to the number on the preset button is selected (for tracks 1-6). When a preset button is pressed for more than 1 second, the track corresponding to the number above the preset button is accessed (for tracks 7-12).
Front Panel Auxiliary Input: A front panel stereo minijack is provided to allow the connection of a portable audio source. Just connect your portable cassette, MD or MP3 player to this unit, and you can listen to the audio from the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system. The input level of the auxiliary input can be adjusted from 0 to 5.
Line Output Mode: In the PSM menu, you can set the rear preamp outputs for connecting rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When set for subwoofer, the outputs are non-fading, and you can set the cutoff frequency of the low pass filter at 90Hz, 135Hz, or 180Hz. The subwoofer level can be set between 0 and 8.
Clock Display: While playing a CD, you can switch between the clock display and the CD elapsed time display (the track number always appears). While listening to the radio you can switch between the clock display and the station frequency display. When you press the Display button during power off, the unit will turn on, display the clock for 5 seconds, then shut off. This can be done with the ignition on or off. In the PSM menu, the clock can be set to display with the unit on or off, only turning off when the ignition is turned off ("keyed" operation).
Display Dimmer: The display dimmer can be set to Off (normal brightness at all times) or On (display is always dimmed).
Disc Protection: If the ejected disc is not removed within 15 seconds, the disc is automatically inserted again into the loading slot to protect it from dust. (Disc will not play this time until you select a track)
Disc Resume: If you change the source, playback also stops (without ejecting the disc). Next time you select CD for the playback source, the disc will start from where it has been stopped previously.
Wireless Remote Control: The KD-PDR30 comes supplied with a wireless remote control (RM-RK50). The remote contains Power, Attenuator, Sound, Source, Tracking and Volume functions.
