I'm running them off my deck . Cristal clear highs, good mids, not really meant for lows though but that's what subs are for. I did need to modify the passengers side speaker cover because it wouldn't fit back on (just had to cut the very corner of the speaker bracket off doesn't effect the speaker at all). I planed on installing tweeters as well but after installing these I realized I don't need them. I was really impressed in the improvement they made over my factory front speakers. When I ordered the db461p's, Crutchfield recommended that I also order the foam baffles that enclose the rear of the speakers. When I got them installed I immediately noticed a nasty low frequency buzz in these rear speakers. It turned out that the baffles were creating a vibration where they came in contact with the outside skin of the rear door. Crutchfield says that these baffles compress to fit behind the speakers. They didn't mention that they cause this nasty buzz. After removing the baffles the problem was solved and the speakers sound great. So I would recommend the speakers but would pass on the baffles if going in the rear doors of a Silverado ext. cab. 16 out of 17 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? It says on Crutchfield that none of the 4x6 they sell will fit in the dash. These fit if you modify it just a little. When you take off the speaker cover on the dash and take out the speakers there is a little plastic peice on the dash (facing the outside on both sides). Just knock it off with a hammer and screw driver. On the speaker cover you take a hacksaw and cut the two plastic things (where the screws go in) even with the plastic oval ring. Then all you do is line it up! You can use all the old bolts and screws. I have Infinity Kappa in the door and two 12" Infinity Kappa subs in the back. I decided to try Polk because they were about $30 cheaper then the Kappa 4x6. They sound amazing! 5 out of 5 Polk Audio db461p Written By , St. Louis, MO on Thursday, July 23, 2009 I bought these speakers for my 2001 s10. It says on Crutchfield that none of the 4x6 they sell will fit in the dash. These fit if you modify it just a little. When you take off the speaker cover on the dash and take out the speakers there is a little plastic peice on the dash (facing the outside on both sides). Just knock it off with a hammer and screw driver. On the speaker cover you take a hacksaw and cut the two plastic things (where the screws go in) even with the plastic oval ring. Then all you do is line it up! You can use all the old bolts and screws. I have Infinity Kappa in the door and two 12" Infinity Kappa subs in the back. I decided to try Polk because they were about $30 cheaper then the Kappa 4x6. They sound amazing!
