These speakers sound great when they are new. I bought mine in 2007. They just blew yesterday. Both pairs I have are now dead. The rubber surround split on the woofer and now it rattles. I also have a pair of polk dvc12's I hope they don't suffer the same fate. Never buying polk again. Gonna save and spend my money on higher end speakers next time.

Excellent choice. Sound is very crisp and clean. Bass is acceptable, in some previous reviews the bass (or lack of)was one of the only low-points to this model. I have yet to find a song that made me say "I really wish there was some more bass right there". Not an issue in my book, and besides, that's what subs are for.

I am completely satisfied with this purchase and install was incredibly easy with the parts Crutchfield provided.
Once I get my subs and new Pioneer DEH-P5900iB head unit installed I will be golden.

I'm a full aftermarket system kind of guy and I'm usually tearing up my car before I even get home from the dealership. All of my past cars have been redone with high-end gear, but I decided to keep it "factory" looking with this new Altima I just bought. So, I just added a sub/amp combo and I'm replacing my factory speakers with the Polk's because I had Polk seperates in my previous car and loved them.

I just installed one side with the DB650 and left the factory Blaupunkt 6-1/2" on the other (it was not recommended but it did fit with a little modifying and drilling). At first, I was a bit disappointed because I noticed that the Blau played much louder than the Polk did. After finishing up the install on that one side, I sat in my car to compare the two. I started to really appreciate the Polk much more although it played about 5 notches lower than the OEM speaker.

The quality and workmanship of the Polk's are first-class. The sound is very warm and pleasing. It doesn't have that high tinny sound you usually get from factory speakers and the vocals are pretty accurate.

I give it 4 stars because the volume leaves a little to be desired IF you're running it off of a OEM stereo. The sensitivity is listed at 92db but the volume is really lacking. If you have at least 40 watts going to them, they'll sound absolutely wonderful. As a matter of fact, I'm sure they'd sound great with even 25 watts. Pick up a pair because for the price, you can't go wrong!!

Purchased these speakers recently to run with a new Pioneer deck - they sound AWESOME!! The Pioneer spits out around 22wRMS, and it's more than enough to thump these speakers> Crystal clear highs, almost concert-hall sounding in my truck, and 05 Dakota. No trouble with the fit or supplied speaker brackets.

I put these in the rear doors of my 2006 hhr replacing the stock units. Boy what a difference!! The bass response isn't quite as good because the adapters don't cover the factory cut out. I was told by the salesman about that at the time of purchase though. And the highs are incredible. I plan to run a 4ch amp soon and install a dynamat speaker kit to fill in the gaps. Great product!! Even greater technical support by the sales team here at Crutchfield!!

When my factory front door speakers developed a buzz, I started looking for replacements, and decided on the Polk DB's based mostly on the reviews here...good decision!

Installation was easy, with the supplied adapters and wiring connectors...taking about an hour to complete...Wow, what a difference! I popped in a CD of my favorite Creed track (Six Feet From the Edge), and couldn't believe the change in sound quality.

My truck has been modified with an aftermarket cold air intake, and a Magnaflow exhaust system...the resulting exhaust note is pretty aggressive. The DB's, driven only by the factory head unit, easily cut through the road and exhaust noise, and deliver great mid-high range, and pretty good bass (but isn't that what subs are for?). I'll be ordering another set for the rear doors today!

I bought these speakers because of the great reviews and I've read through all of them before I decided to order these great sounding speakers considering I'm only running these off my Sony CDX-F7710(black edition) and a set of 10" subwoofer on a customize enclosure in the trunk...and after you let it break in...they sounded even better.
As a replacement for my 2 year old Sony speakers on my Civic front door. Installation was smooth thanks for the installation kit that came with my order. The speaker bracket fit perfectly not until I re-assemble my door cover (that's when the problem comes in)the door cover would not close it was too bulky so I end up not using the bracket and mount the speakers on a wood bracket.
I was going to order another set of these to replace my rear deck even though Crutchfield suggested that these speakers wouldn't fit when I ordered the first set.
About two weeks later, I saw these speakers on a discontinued sale and bought it, what a steal.

I'm only rating this 4.5 stars just because of the bracket, but I would recommend these speakers and thanks to Crutchfield and all the GREAT REVIEWS.........

Bought a set of these to replace the factory Blaupunkt duel cones in my 07 Nisan Frontier Crew Cab rear doors. As with my last set of Polk DBs (in my last truck) they sound great (driven to 50 W RMS with a Sony XM-4S amp.) Install with the Crutchfield suplied master sheet and adapters was easy ( although I did have to open the 3 mounting holes a touch with a file/drill bit.) Sound is clean and warm with decient mid-low/mid base. Lots of bank for teh buck with Polk DB's.!

I bought these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 2007 civic. They sound very good still using the factory head unit. The Highs and Mid range are extremely clear. The only drawback i have is that they do not have a lot of bass. The bass there is clear, but it is not that loud. I'm going to put a small subwoofer in the car soon, so it doesn't bother me. All in all, a very good product.

I have the 2006 Honda Civic SI and I purchased these speakers to replace the front and back factory speakers. The sound quality is excellent considering I am running these off the Sony BT-500 head unit. I can not comment on the sound quality of these speakers if they are hooked up to an amp and crossover (That is next). The Rear speakers took a little customization but nothing more than a few hours and some plywood and a jig saw wouldn’t fix (I can not blame that on Crutchfield they didn’t say it would fit the rear deck.) Front Speakers worked great mounting instructions where excellent.

Would buy these again and wont buy anywhere else but Crutchfield!!!!
