Infinity's flagship Kappa Perfect Series speakers look so good and feel so solidly built that it's a shame you probably won't lay your eyes on them again after they're installed, but it's a small price to pay to experience unrivaled audio in your vehicle. This Kappa Perfect 600 6-1/2" component system is a heart-and-soul Infinity creation, utilizing the very best technology and materials available to their engineers.

High-definition tweeters

Prepare to hear nuance and detail in your favorite music that you never knew was there. Infinity uses edge-driven polyimide dome tweeters to achieve a frequency response up to 30,000 Hz. The "edge-driven" design creates a larger tweeter that handles more power and delivers smooth response way down into midrange frequencies as well. You'll hear a more clearly defined soundstage where you can picture the placement of every instrument.

Tweeter mounts included

While installing tweeters can sometimes prove challenging, Infinity includes versatile hardware for surface- or flush-mounting, making the job much easier in most vehicles.

Carbon fiber woofer with Plus One+ technology

Infinity uses a carbon fiber woofer that weighs less than traditional materials, so you don't need a ton of power to drive this woofer, but the oversized voice coil certainly allows for awesome power-handling if you're driving this system with an amp. Infinity's Plus One+ woofer technology extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you more surface area than with most comparable speakers. A bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response. The included external crossovers send the appropriate frequencies to the tweeters and woofers.

Want a 3-way Kappa Perfect system?

Infinity makes it easy to turn this Kappa Perfect 2-way component system into a 3-way system with the addition of optional 3-1/2" midrange speakers. Simply flip the switch on each Kappa Perfect crossover to a 3-way system configuration for a well-rounded sound. These speakers are sensitive enough that you can power them with an aftermarket stereo, but you'll get your best results feeding them plenty of power from an outboard amp — up to 100 watts RMS.

Features

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One woofer cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Terminals: The woofers' input terminals are set screws that will accept up to 14 gauge bare wire.

Woofer Size: Without an adapter, the woofers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. They will also fit in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings, but do not use the standard 6-1/2" speaker bolt pattern. In order to install them in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings you must drill new screw holes. If new holes are drilled in the mounting surface of the car, no bracket is needed. If drilling in the car is not an option, the included brackets can be used, which have standard 6-1/2" mounting holes, the Ford non-symmetric four hole pattern, and other 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" patterns. When using the brackets the depth becomes 2.643" and the mounting height becomes 0.77".

Tweeter Mounting: Using the included housings the tweeters can be flush mounted or surface mounted. The tweeter can pivot in the flush mount housing, so it can be directed to optimize imaging.

Tweeter Dimensions:

  Flush Mount Surface Mount
Mounting Height 0.473" 1.33"
Mounting Depth 1.383" screw depth
Frame Diameter 2.661" 2.25"
Cutout Diameter 2.125" N/A

Crossovers: The crossovers can be set to 2-way (the default position, for use with the included woofer and tweeter) or 3-way (for use with the included drivers plus the optional Kappa Perfect 300M midrange, sold separately). Each crossover also has a tweeter output level switch (choose between high and low output). The inputs and outputs are screw terminals that will accept bare wire or spade connectors up to 0.275" wide. There are four mounting holes in the base of each crossover.

Crossover Dimensions:

  • Length: 5-1/2"
  • Width: 7-15/16"
  • Height: 1-5/8"

Q
Can they be mounted in the fairing of a 2011 Harley Davidson Road glide?
john  Apr 01, 2023
1 answer
A
It may be possible to fit these with a bit of fabrication. They would not be a direct fit. Keep in mind that these are not weather/water resistant speakers.
zachary  Apr 02, 2023 (Staff)
Q
The crossover has two settings. A low and high. Whatâ??s the difference. I ? will use them in 3 way mode.
thomas  Dec 18, 2022
1 answer
A
That is a great question, Tom. If you are using these in 3-way mode with the Kappa Perfect 300m in the link below, the low and high settings refer only to the tweeter, the tweeter output level switch. Depending on whether you are running a subwoofer or not, this lets you choose a little boost to the tweeters if you prefer. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108PERF300/Infinity-Kappa-Perfect-300m.html

Q
So what would the ohm load to amplifier be if the 3 way setup is utilized?
thomas  Dec 15, 2022
1 answer
A
When set to 3-way mode, the crossover adjusts to maintain a 3.5-ohm nominal impedance.

Some do, some don't, it really depends on the item and how it came back to us. You are covered in full by the manufacturer's warranty, as well as Crutchfield's 60 day satisfaction guarantee.

Q
Can i make these woofers fit in my 2018 Toyota Camry with the proper speaker mount brace and the speaker ring that comes with the set?
armando  Feb 12, 2020
1 answer
A
I do not think they will fit using those parts or custom made spacers without causing issues with being able to roll down the windows.

Q
Is the woofer basket metal?
jon  Jan 16, 2020
2 answers
A
Hi Jon! Thanks for your question! The Kappa Perfect 600's are some outstanding speakers! Unfortunately we do not have the basket material listed for these. I also looked into the owners manual to try to confirm for you, but that info has not been published. I would recommend reaching out to Infinity regarding this, so they can give you a definite answer on that. You may reach out to their customer support department at 800-553-3332. Get in touch with us if we can help you out with anything else, Jon!

Yes they appear to be... in the midst of installing now running three way and 1000 watts to each door. Can't wait to hear them. Build quality does seem to be substantial don't think you'll be dissatisfied. Good luck!

Q
What is the minimum RMS for these speakers? Is 150 watts RMS too much?
justin  Nov 19, 2018
1 answer
A
There is no listed minimum RMS. They are efficient enough to work well off the wattage of an in-dash stereo but, like most speakers, will provide their best performance when powered by an aftermarket amplifier. 150 watts is a lot of power and well more than they are rated to handle (up to 100) but you can make it work when you set your amplifier gains correctly. Q
Can this system fits on my 2016 Kia Sorento LX version?, and do you know where can I pay to install it? I'm in New albany Indiana
robinson  Sep 25, 2018
1 answer
A
The woofers would fit easily into the front & rear door locations of the '16 Sorento--however the tweeters would require some work for proper fitment. To explore installation options in your area, you can use our "find an installer" search tool: https://www.crutchfield.com/LocalInstaller/InstallerSearch.aspx?installType=0 You can also contact a Crutchfield Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat to discuss further. Thanks!

Q
What would be a couple good 4 channel amps to push two sets of these. Would they need to be 100rms each channel ?
bryan  Mar 24, 2018
1 answer
A
There are many amps that can work with these speakers to give different performance levels. Due to this fact, you will want to consult an advisor for a personal recommendation on an amp for your goals. Q
What do these get crossed at before and after you flip the switch?
dan  Jan 01, 2017
2 answers
A
Hi Daniel, This may be too late now, but I contacted infinity myself and got an answer to this! In normal two way mode the tweeters are crossed at 3.4khz In three-way mode it is the same for the tweet crossed at 3.4khz then the mid goes from 400hz to 3.4khz and the woofer goes from 400hz and down. all crossover points are at an 18db slope Hope this helps! (side note: these speakers sound AMAZING)
carlos  Apr 14, 2018
A
The crossover frequencies do not change for the tweeter output level switch. You would not use the 3-way switch without adding the Kappa Perfect 300m midrange driver which has a frequency response of 150-10,000Hz: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108PERF300/item.html I hope that helps, My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5
