An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music. Kenwood's KCA-iP101 iPod cable is just like the cable that came with your iPod, so you can leave your iPod cable safe at home. Use it to connect your iPod to any 2008-up Kenwood car stereo that features direct iPod control via USB input. Warranty: 1 year. We wanted HD, Bluetooth, and phone and iPod interface. We mistakenly assumed Kenwood could successfully integrate these features. Our 4G iPod Touch and our phone have Bluetooth capabilities but two Bluetooth devices did not integrate well. So we tried to use the USB connection for the Touch and it did not work with the cable that came with the Touch. So we purchased the KCA-IP101 cable and it did not help. Finally, I called Crutchfield support and the tech support guy cut me off and took charge like a 911 operator - not a good start. But the abrupt manner was followed by immediately getting to the root of the problem and solving it in record time. All I had to do was restart the Touch and the Kenwood stereo simultaneously and he knew exactly how to do both. Was this review helpful?
