Tim Sprinkle

It delivers a strong, static-free signal and, thanks to its slim, hideaway design, it won't hog space on your dash. Installation is minimal, and leaves your hood with a clean, uncluttered look.

This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

Its pretty small mines installed so I can't give exact size but it's about 1.25x5.00 cords about 10-12 feet, it works really good best to get it as high as possible with little to no metal above it, I mount mine in rear window above package tray

It is to amp up the FM signal. This antenna did not work for me. I can't recommend this piece of crap at all.

Q
if the length is shortened, will the reception/performance be affected?
tammy  Jul 17, 2018

A
I think you can not shortened the length. I don't recommend to attempt to cut the cable. Fold carefully the part of it you don't need, avoiding to break it. I placed it near the visor and it worked very well. Wonderful reception. I hope you enjoy your experience.

Hey Tammy, I am sorry I did not have a chance to install this device. I instead replaced the audio receiver/cd. I don't think it's a wise idea to shorten or alter the length of the coax, surly you can hide some of the extra length. Hope this helps...Good luck Anthony

Q
Do you have to mount this on your windshield or can you put it out of sight under the dash somewhere?
donald  May 03, 2016

BEst reception is outside the vehicle, above rear window is best. Inconspicuous. Or as another mentioned, behind rear view mirror.

Q
Is this ddesigned to be left behind the radio face? The way i read that what it sounds like. So I'm wondering if that is correct?
mandrew  Jan 17, 2016

A
You can mount it where ever you want in the vehicle
kyle  Jan 18, 2016
A
it has a long cord to allow you to route it wherever you want. I ran mine across the bottom of the dash and concealed the cord up the passenger side pillar trim and out the top where I attached it to very top corner of the windshield to be as inconspicuous as possible

Q
Looking to use this on a motorcycle that has AM/FM and weather band. Would this work for WB too?
marsha  Jan 25, 2014
5 answers
A
I realize that this question is old enough that the answer will be irrelevant to the one who posted the question, however, in the interest of information for the benefit of posterity, no, this antenna should not work on the Weather (WX) band. The AM broadcast band spans from 530 to 1700 kHz (but who listens to AM anymore?). The FM broadcast band spans from 88 to 108 MHz. These are North American frequency bands. The NOAA Weather Radio frequencies are: 162.400, 162.425, 162.450, 162.475, 162.500, 162.525, and 162.550 MHz (FM), well above the broadcast spectrum. It is possible that if you are relatively close to one of the NWR transmitters, you could accidentally receive a signal, just as you might with a random length wire, but this antenna will not be an efficient nor reliable NWR receiving antenna, because it is not designed to be resonant at those frequencies.
