Pioneer

Our take on the Pioneer CDRB10

The Pioneer CDRB10 adapter allows you to connect any auxiliary source (cassette, MP3, Minidisc, etc.) with RCA outputs to your Pioneer changer-controlling receiver (with IP-Bus input). The CDRB10 accepts an RCA patch cable from your auxiliary source and connects to the changer input on the Pioneer receiver. The auxiliary source must have an output voltage of 1 volt (or less), or a volume control to adjust output level.

Important Note: When the CDRB10 is hooked up to the IP-Bus input, a Pioneer changer cannot be connected to the receiver.

Highlights:

  • converts Pioneer IP-Bus changer input into a stereo RCA auxiliary input
  • auxiliary source must have a volume control or an output voltage of 1 volt or less
  • length: 20"
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Features

Compatibility: This adapter allows you to input line level audio signals to any Pioneer head unit with an IP-Bus connection (P-series CD changer input), except the KEH-P1010. Also, the adapter can be used to send line level audio signals from the tuner included with the Pioneer GEX-FM903XM FM modulated XM Satellite Radio package (item 130FM903XM) to any brand of head unit with an AUX input.

Notes:

  • When this item is connected to the IP-Bus connection of a Pioneer head unit, a CD changer cannot be connected to the head unit. If you want to add RCA inputs and retain the ability to connect and control a CD changer, use item 130CDRB20, instead of this item.
  • When connected to the IP-Bus connection of a Pioneer head unit, the device connected to the RCA ins must have an output voltage of 1 volt or less, or it must have a volume control so its output can be lowered. If the signal voltage is higher than 1 volt, the unit will distort and/or be damaged.
  • When connected to the IP-Bus output of the GEX-FM903XM XM Satellite Tuner,  you'll still need to use the wired remote/display to control the tuner.
  • This adapter has female RCA connections, so, depending on the jack(s) found on the device being connected to this adapter, an RCA-to-RCA or RCA-to-mini-jack patch cable will be needed.

This is an easy way to connect any auxilary device to your Pioneer head unit. It's easy to install and I easily connected my iPod by using this with the Arista Stereo Mini-to-RCA Adapter. The quality it many times better than a FM modulator. The volume is pretty low to begin with, but I believe that is to keep an auxilary device from frying the head unit.

I certainly recommend this as a reliable, easy, and inexpensive way to connect an mp3 player.

I also recieved my order in under 24 hours. Crutchfield rocks.

The Pioneer CDRB10 is by far the best bang for the buck item I have purchased in the last few years. The install took less than 10 min. but I spent about 1 hour in my Jeep just listening to various songs because I was amazed by the quality of the sound. If you are thinking about buying one of these for your iPod do yourself a favor and order one Crutchfield has a 30 return policy that you wont use on this item.

Awesome!!!!!

This is such a great addition to the stereo for the IPOD. It was extremely easy to install (about 5 minutes) and sounds great with the IPOD. I had the FM transmitter, but this sounds about 1000 times better. You can't go wrong here.

Pioneer CDRB10

Fantastic. I purchased the CDRB-10 to connect my five year old ipod to a pioneer head unit. It is so sweet to ride to work listening to my tunes. If your ipod is an older model like mine this is the way to go.

Do not feed your iPod into a Pioneer via FM! It limits bandwidth, particularly deep bass, and introduces noise at all times - not to mention the broadcast station interference that is everpresent when you travel. The IP-interface device plugs in and gives you back your CD sound from the music on your iPod. Best $35 I ever spent.

You may possibly need a ground loop isolator

Written By John, Louisville, KY on Monday, July 03, 2006

It's a pretty simple piece of equipment that gives you awesome sound from anything you put into your car's head unit that can hook up to RCA cables. You just plug the thing into the AUX port and that's it. The hardest part is getting to the back of your head unit.

One word of advice. You may need to use a ground loop isolator. My setup was a 2000 Honda Civic, RoadyXT plug and play, and when using the direct feed into the head unit with the CDRB-10 it gave a constant high pitch hissing noise. No noise if I used the FM modulator. So the only thing that got rid of the sound was the ground loop isolator.

I purchased this adapter to use with the Pioneer DEH-P47DH radio. The unit is much smaller than it looks in the pictures and is easily hidden in the dash.

Sound quality is great. I do have to turn the volume on my MP3 player up all the way, but after than, the sound is as clean and strong as the CD player.

As said below, i used this adapter to plug in my ipod with the addition of a monster RCA to mini headphone caple. I too have tried the FM transmiter and was somewhat satisfied until i heard the sound from my new head unit. Amazing clarity, and you are not limited in volume like you are with the FM transmiter so you can blast it with no distortion. I am using the DEH-3700mp. Instalation was very easy and crutchfield was their when i needed some help getting the head unit to recognize the AUX adapter. They supply everything, they help with everything, they have everthing. Simply put, crutchfield is the best, hands down.
