Q
Will this work with avic-z1?

A
No problem Bud. You can check out the link below for the Z150. Take a look at the third picture which shows the back of the unit as well. For the item to work the receiver must have the square proprietary connector which you will see on the left of the picture next to the green connector. There are other pictures to help identify the unit as well. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVIC150/Pioneer-AVIC-Z150BH.html

Brian! Connector has unified pinout, if Your unit support USB bus it should work. I Have z120, 140 and x910 in my cars. All unit works with that cable. We are using USB flash drivers without any problem. Readout speed can vary depending of chips speed.

Q
Will this work with the iPhone 5s? I don't want to use the HMi cable with the adapter. All I want is to be able to use a lightning cable I order to get the apps to work. Don't care about mirrorlink

If you want to use the app functionality you do have to buy the cable. I did this with an iPhone 4s and it is worth it for the added capability.

No it will not. Even if you use the apple approved 30 pin to lightning adapter, all you can do is charge your phone and use it in Bluetooth. I tried that one myself when I went from a 4S to a 5S. Yes it kind of sucks to have to buy another lightning cable and digital video adapter and an hdmi cable, but in the long run you'll be happy you did it. Cost me 30 bucks for the adapter, 6 bucks for the lightning cable, and 3 bucks for an hdmi cable. I talked to a pioneer rep and he informed me that the apps are run through the phone and the video out is what displays the apps on the radio. Audio is strictly Bluetooth. Save yourself some dough and don't buy the pioneer kit, just plug the lightning cable in to your USB port on the radio.

This will work with your iPhone 5s. You just have to get the 30 pin to lightning conversion cable. I have a iPhone 5s and that is what I did and it works.

It works with a lightning connector...U should be fine...
eric  May 21, 2014

No, the 5s requires the USB adapter. This is only for 4 and 4s, or iPods.
