Customer Q&A

Q
I only use my iPod to listen to music. I would like to be able to see song titles and album covers. Can I do that with a USB/ iPod cable or do I need to purchase this cable?

If you have an USB/iPod cable that should work just fine. If I had it to do over I would just run an USB cable from back to front for maximum versatility. You can hook any and everything up to the USB.

The cable shown works for sure. I think a regular sub should work too, the stereo has a built in reception device for the usb that works for my iPhone to get the same results but it may be receiving the wifi signal at the same time. I think it's a safe bet to give the usb a try but a lock if you purchase the cable shown

Q
I bought this cable, As it looked exactly like what i'm looking for. Somehow i burnt out the resistors in my IPOD 4thGen. So i can no longer use my Headphone jack. Which is why i got this cable... I plus the USB into a charging port, But no Sound comes out the AUX Cable. And idea why? The USB is charging my IPOD, When i plug the the USB directly to the radio it works thru the USB, But i go from truck to truck and my work trucks do not have the USB in the radios, So i was looking for something like this to accomodate me.... Any ideas?

I just looked up your cable. That's only used to connect video to a head unit. Completely worthless for what you're trying. Just use a basic iPod cable and plug directly into the USB. Otherwise use the radio frequency adapter I spoke of. That's the answer to your problem.

I hate to say it, but if your 3.5MM jack on your iPod is shot then the only way to digitally transfer the music is through a USB/iPod cable. If you have the cable that has USB/3.5MM that's only needed to transfer video to DVD head units. And it all depends on the head unit. Otherwise you can buy a device that links your iPod to the stereo frequency on the radio. Those are fairly cheap these days and get the job done as the old tape deck players did. Not sure if that answers all your questions, as I'm not positive about the cables and/or problems you're referring to. Good-luck listening.
