LCD Display: The DEH-P310UB features a black background with \r\na one-line, 16-character white LED display, which takes advantage of MP3, WMA, \r\niPod, XM Radio, and Sirius, plus CD Text-encoded discs. This display makes it \r\neasy to read and cycle through the song title, artist, and other text used by \r\nthese sources.

Ever Scroll: When the Ever Scroll feature is set to On, recorded \r\ntext information scrolls continuously on the display. It will auto-scroll up to 64 \r\ncharacters. Set this feature to Off if you prefer the information to scroll only \r\nonce.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the Clock Display has \r\nbeen turned on, pressing and holding the Source button turns off audio output, but \r\nthe clock display remains on. When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing \r\nand holding the source button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned \r\nthe radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the clock button. \r\nThe clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On you can \r\nselect between the clock display or the audio track/tuner display.

MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-P310UB is equipped with a MOSFET \r\namplifier. Compared to conventional power \r\nsupplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it \r\ndelivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off \r\nswitching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes \r\nbecause you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the \r\nDEH-P310UB are \r\ncompliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement \r\nstandards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were \r\ndeveloped as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and \r\nbetween manufacturers. The power output specs for the DEH-P310UB are as \r\nfollows:

When \r\nSound Retriever is on, the high frequency range is compensated to match the frequency \r\nresponse curve to the original sound. There are two available levels of the Sound \r\nRetriever effect.

EEQ (Easy EQ): The DEH-P310UB is equipped with a 3-band \r\nparametric EQ with 6 preset EQ settings. You can boost or cut each frequency \r\nband by +/- 6dB at 1dB intervals. Features of the Easy EQ include:

Selectable Loudness Levels: Loudness compensates for deficiencies \r\nin the low and high frequencies at low \r\nvolumes. You can choose from three levels of \r\nloudness:

Mid: +10dB (100Hz), +6.5dB \r\n\t(10kHz)

Dual 2.2-Volt Preamp Outputs: The Pioneer DEH-P310UB features \r\ntwo pair of 2.2-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear). The unit's rear preamp outputs \r\ncan be configured as a dedicated non-fading RCA subwoofer output with a low-pass \r\nfilter, phase adjustment, and output level. When the subwoofer output is turned \r\non, you can select the frequency of the 18dB/octave low pass filter (50, 63, 80, \r\n100, or 125 Hz), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer \r\ngain (+6 to -24).

\r\n

Switchable Rear Channel/Subwoofer Speaker Output: The rear \r\nspeaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, \r\nor they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear \r\nspeaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from \r\nfull range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect \r\nthe rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual \r\nvoice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, \r\nyou can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear \r\nleads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one \r\nset of leads is 70 watts.

\r\n

High Pass Filter: If you do not want low frequency sounds to \r\nplay from the front or rear speaker outputs, you can turn on the 12dB/octave High \r\nPass Filter. The HPF has a selectable cutoff frequency (50, 63, 80, 100, or 125 \r\nHz). Only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output through \r\nthe speakers.

\r\n

Bass Boost: The Bass Boost function raises the level of sounds \r\nlower than 100Hz. You can select a desired level of bass boost between 0 and 6 \r\n(Gain: +12dB to 0dB).

\r\n

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust \r\nthe volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching \r\nbetween sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which \r\nremains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

AM/FM Tuner

\r\n

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features \r\nFeed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection \r\nof interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In \r\naddition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path \r\ninterference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital \r\nprocessing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo \r\nseparation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function \r\nlets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 \r\nof the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can \r\nstore 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM \r\npresets.

Local Tuning: Local seek tuning \r\nlets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for \r\ngood reception. There are 4 levels of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. \r\nThe higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower \r\nsettings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

CD Playback

\r\n

MP3/WMA/WAV Playback:\r\nThis unit can play MP3/WMA/WAV files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs \r\nin ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, and Romeo formats. MP3 files with a bit rate \r\nfrom 8-320 kbps, WMA files with a constant bit rate from 48-320 kbps, and WMA \r\nfiles with a variable bit rate from 48-384 kbps are supported. The unit is \r\ncompatible with ID3 Tags and will display artist, folder, file, and album name, \r\nplus comments. Up to 8 directories, 99 folders and 999 files per disc are \r\nrecognized by this unit.

AAC Decoding: This unit will \r\nplayback AAC files encoded by iTunes recorded onto CDs, however files purchased \r\nfrom the iTunes Music Store (.m4p file extension) are not compatible. Tracks \r\nrecorded at transmission rates of 16-320 kbps are playable on this unit.

List Button: The List button on the front panel allows you \r\nto track the title list, folder list, file list, preset channel list, or disc \r\ntitle list, depending upon the source. Once the List button is pressed, you can \r\nturn the multi-control knob to view each item on the list. To select the highlighted \r\nitem, you can press the multi-control. This allows you to quickly make selections \r\nfrom most any source.

External Device Connection

\r\n

Front-Panel USB Input: The unit's front-panel USB type-A input \r\nallows you to connect a USB portable audio player or USB flash memory that is USB \r\nMass Storage Class compliant (256MB to 250GB). This unit can play MP3/WMA/WAV/AAC \r\nfiles stored on a USB Mass Storage device in FAT16 or FAT32 file system formats. \r\nMP3 files with a bit rate from 8-320 kbps, WMA files with a constant bit rate from \r\n48-320 kbps, and WMA files with a variable bit rate from 48-384 kbps, along with \r\nAAC files with a bit rate from16-320 kbps are supported. The unit is compatible \r\nwith ID3 Tags and will display artist, folder, file, and album name, plus comments. \r\nUp to 8 directories, 500 folders and 15,000 files per USB device are recognized by \r\nthis unit.

iPod Interface: The DEH-P310UB can control and playback \r\nsongs on an iPod. This unit supports only iPods with a standard Dock Connector. \r\nYou can connect your iPod to the unit's front-panel USB input using the included CD-iU50 \r\ncable or the one supplied with your iPod. When connected via USB, you can choose to control the \r\niPod from the head unit or the iPod itself (you can still change songs from the \r\nhead unit, even when you are controlling the iPod manually.) You can perform \r\nmultiple search functions, including playlist, genre, artist, album, and \r\nalphabetical searches. The head unit will also display your iPod's music file \r\ninformation, including Play Time, Song Title, Artist Name, and Album Title. \r\nWhile connected and the ignition switch is set to ACC or ON, the USB connection \r\nwill power and charge your iPod. The Pioneer DEH-P310UB is "Made for \r\niPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the following iPod/iPhone model functions \r\n(as of Dec. 2009):

Satellite Radio Ready: You can connect and control an \r\nexternal satellite radio tuner from XM or SIRIUS. The head unit is compatible \r\nwith the GEX-P920XM (130P920XM, \r\nsold separately) Pioneer XM receiver. For Sirius there are two options; connect \r\nthe SC-C1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle tuner and the CD-SB10 Pioneer Sirius \r\nSatellite Radio interface (700SIRPION, \r\nsold separately), or use the Pioneer Sirius Satellite Radio interface (130CDSB10, \r\nsold separately) and the SIRIUS dock-and-play adapter (607SCVDOC1, \r\nsold separately) along with a compatible portable SIRIUS radio. A subscription \r\nto XM or Sirius, plus the proper antenna is required in order to receive \r\nsatellite radio programming. The satellite radio tuners connect via the IP-Bus \r\nconnector on the back of the head unit.

HD Radio Ready: This unit is compatible with the optional \r\nPioneer GEX-P20HD HD Radio tuner (130GEXP20H, \r\nsold separately) allowing you to tune available HD Radio stations. HD Radio \r\nfeatures high quality audio, FM multi-casting, and data services. The optional \r\nHD Radio tuner connects through the IP-BUS interface.

\r\n

Optional Bluetooth Adapter: In addition, you can use this \r\nunit to control a CD-BTB200 Bluetooth adapter (130BTB200, \r\nsold separately) for your compatible Bluetooth mobile phone or Bluetooth \r\nportable audio player. The Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Adapter allows you to \r\nmake and receive calls wirelessly and hands-free on your Bluetooth-equipped \r\ncellular telephone through this Pioneer "Bluetooth Adapter Ready" head unit. The \r\nCD-BTB200 comes with a microphone for making and answering your calls. You can \r\nhear the other party through the vehicle's speaker system. The unit connects to \r\nthe head unit via the supplied IP-BUS cable, and has an IP-BUS pass-through for \r\ndaisy chaining another component.

\r\n

IP-Bus Changer Controls: You can add an IP-Bus-compatible 6-disc \r\nor 12-disc Pioneer CD changer, and control it from the head unit.

\r\n

Auxiliary Input: The DEH-P310UB is equipped with a front-panel \r\n3.5mm stereo mini-jack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as \r\na portable MP3 player, DVD, or VCR. Once AUX 1 is selected as a source, you can \r\nchange the source display of the input to any 10-character name. A second auxiliary \r\ndevice can be connected to this unit when an optional adapter is connected to the \r\nIP-Bus connector on the rear panel. Both Aux 1 and Aux 2 must be turned on in the \r\nsetup menu in order to be selected as a source. See below for more information on \r\nthe 2nd Auxiliary Input.

2nd Auxiliary Input Ready: In addition to the front panel \r\nmini-jack Aux input (AUX 1), you can connect a second auxiliary component by \r\nconnecting an IP-Bus/RCA connector. The optional CD-RB10 (130CDRB10, \r\nsold separately) lets you connect one auxiliary component, and the optional \r\nCD-RB20 (130CDRB20, sold separately) lets you connect an auxiliary component and a CD \r\nchanger via the IP-Bus connector on the back of the head unit. The 10-character \r\nname of the connected auxiliary component can be entered into memory, and will \r\nappear as you cycle through the sources.

Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-P310UB comes with a wireless remote \r\ncontrol (CXC8885). The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between \r\nsources, pause the CD, change the display, and adjust the audio. The attenuator \r\nbutton allows you to quickly lower the volume by about 90%, a function that \r\ncannot be performed from the front panel.

Steering Wheel Control: The PAC SWI-PS steering wheel remote interface \r\n(127SWIPS, \r\nsold separately) is compatible with this head unit.
