Panasonic's KX-TG6443T expandable phone system combines the convenience of traditional features with the clear calling of today's cordless phones. A large screen makes caller's names easily visible, while backlit buttons on the handset and an extra set of buttons on the base pad give you multiple dialing options. When a call comes in, Talking Caller ID announces who's calling between rings. You can even put unwanted callers on the phone's Call Block list, and when they call, they'll simply get a busy signal. This talking phone can also announce scheduled appointments and tell you when it's time to recharge the handset.

If you want to turn off the ringer when you go to sleep, just switch the handset to "Silent Mode" and you won't hear a sound. But don't worry about missing an important call if you forget to turn the ringer back on — the handset's light-up indicator will still alert you when a call comes in or when you have a message on the built-in digital answering machine. The base pad includes controls for the answering machine, which can store nearly 18 minutes of messages for you.

The Panasonic KX-TG6443T uses DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology for clear conversations with reduced noise and excellent cordless range. It operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency bandwidth, so it won't interfere with Wi-Fi® computer networks or other common wireless devices. If you want to expand this system to accommodate a large household or small business, you can add up to three more handsets — for a total of six — still using just one phone jack.
