The dash opening this kit is designed for is a different shape and size than the typical aftermarket car stereo receiver. The mounting bracket covers the "gaps" and anchors your new receiver into your dash. It also will allow you to install an equalizer into the dash along with the radio in a "rack mount" configuration.
Note: If you are installing a DIN-style receiver, you'll need to convert the 2-knob face plate to accept your radio by cutting and removing the plastic shaft supports.
The kit includes:
- a cover for the equalizer opening in case you are not installing one
- brackets to add onto the larger mounting bracket that you use to accomodate different types of dash openings
