Overview Details Staff Reviews Customer Reviews Category Info Our take on the Dynamat 10435 Xtreme Door Kit by Steven Johnson Dynamat Door Kits put up a sonic barrier that keeps noise out and your system's sound in. That means you'll hear more music using less power effectively increasing your amplifier's output. High-performance Dynamat Xtreme is a patented, lightweight elastomeric butyl and aluminum constrained-layer vibrational damper. At .044" thick, it's lighter than Dynamat Original, four times more effective, requires no heat to apply and is recommended for contoured vehicle panels. Dynamat Xtreme is coated with aluminum to make it ideal for high temperature areas such as firewalls and floors - and for high SPL environments. Contains four 12" x 36" sheets. Features Installation Features Overview: Dynamat Xtreme provides four times the damping efficiency of Original Dynamat, the conforming ability of Premium Dynamat, and the radiant energy reflection of Super Dynamat. Dynamat Xtreme has an aluminum layer for high-temperature areas. Dynamat Xtreme will create a seal and damp the door panel to maximize your system's performance. Self-Adhesive: The rubber layer of Dynamat Xtreme is very sticky, so it comes with a peel-off paper liner. Once the paper liner is peeled from the rubber layer, Dynamat Xtreme can be adhered to your door panel. Easy to Cut: The material cuts easily with scissors or a razor knife. Installation Installation Steps: Clean mounting surface (bare metal) Using a razor knife or scissors cut Dynamat Xtreme to the desired size Remove the blue release liner from the back of the Dynamat Xtreme and apply to door Apply pressure, working Dynamat Xtreme into the contours of the door panel Work air out with a roller tool (eliminating air pockets will ensure lasting adhesion of the Dynamat Xtreme to the panel, giving you maximum damping effect) Product reviews from the Crutchfield Labs Product reviews from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. I was skeptical at first thinking that this stuff didn't really make a difference. I bought this Door kit and it took me about 2 hours to cover both my doors on my 2 door Dodge Stealth. I had leftover and used it on my trunk. I was surprised after I got on the road, I didn't have to turn my stereo up as loud to hear it and I noticed that the vibrations weren't so bad and were quieter. I am planning on getting some more for my trunk. I would recommend this product if you want a better sounding stereo. 4 out of 5 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I was having some rattling issues and bought the door kit and installed in both doors and the rattle is gone and everything sounds alot clearer then it did before. If you are looking for a cheap sound upgrade, but this stuff! 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Expensive, But Worth It Written By John, Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, May 05, 2005 I have used this product repeatedly - the first time in my 1998 Silverado "dooley", and most recently in my new Jeep Liberty. I ordered the door kit, which arrives packaged in four rectangular sheets. The first thing you'll notice is the heft of this material - it is thin, yet solid. After removing the OEM plastic liner from inside the door panels, I laid the DynaMat out on the lawn and used a black marker to trace an outline from the OEM plastic liners. Then I left them in the sun to warm up slightly, which makes them "tackier" and easier to mold into the contours of your door panels. A quick wipe of the metal surfaces with denatured alcohol was the only prep work to do before installation. Save the trimmed pieces, too - they'll come in handy later to fill small gaps in the material.Installation will be time consuming, so plan on spending the time to get it done right (my Jeep Liberty took all afternoon). After installation of the DynaMat and my new speakers, I've got audio coming out that I hadn't realized was missing ! With the added material the doors have a slighter heavier thud upon closing - not such a bad thing. I cannot recommend this product highly enough. Once you use it and actually hear the difference it makes, you'll be glad to got it. DynaMat may be expensive, but it's worth every penny if you really want to squeeze every ounce of quality sound from your speakers. I'd give it seven stars out of five :) 109 out of 119 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 It really works... Written By audiofan, Sacramento, CA on Wednesday, February 07, 2007 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. I purchased three sets of the door kit, and two sets of the speaker kit. With that amount of Dynamat, there was enough material for all four doors of both my 2005 Corolla and 2003 Subaru Outback Wagon. There was enough material left over so I put a second layer on about 25% of the Corolla's two front doors. For me, the most apparent effect of using Dynamat is the noticeable increase in the quality of sound coming from my sound system. After I installed the Dynamat, my car sounds like I installed a very very good, high-end set of bookshelf speakers in my car. The sound is just beautiful!! I can hear every note and detail!I covered every hole in the door panel with Dynamat. The speakers now produce crisp, accurate highs and lows. I have subwoofers in both cars, but the door and rear deck speakers now produce wonderful mids that were non-existent before. Door panel vibrations and rattles caused by my subwoofers and road imperfections have also been eliminated. Is Dynamat worth it? Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. I installed the kit in a 99 Saturn SL. There was enough to cover both of the front doors, and the entire back deck with scraps left. It is easy to install in the summer. Just put it out in the sun for a few minutes to soften in the heat. Make sure you wear gloves when pressing it into the curves of the door panels. I found that the metal cover split in some places and sliced into my fingers easily. It has helped with low frequency noise like the sound of the tires rolling on the pavement. The wind noise is still high in the car, but it is definately quieter. 4 out of 5 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 I'M A BELIEVER NOW! GET THE DYNAMAT! Believe it or not, it is the foundation for all else; works amazingly well! Road noise is dramatically decreased. The 6x8's are loving the amp! Great bass response and super-crisp highs, although too powerful of mids can muddy up the music, so adjust as necessary. The amp is super-clean and gets those 6x8's LOUD! Often too loud for my liking, so the gain stays at half. The sub mounted perfectly under the seat and was CRITICAL for balance. It outperforms what I hoped for without upsetting the neighbors. Sometimes strains with rap, hiphop, techno, etc., but performs very well with all else. Finally, the head unit is loaded with options, including mp3 player input - 'nuff said.If I could do it all again, I think I'd do components in the doors for add'l bass response and the tweeter upgrade (and may end up anyway). But, all-in-all, I am VERY pleased with this setup. 15+ hours of install, but completely worth it. People can't believe how great my truck sounds, and better yet: they can't see a thing! Written By shovel99, Atlanta, GA on Sunday, June 14, 2009 Be sure to get enough product to do both the inside and the outside of the doors. The very most important benefit is about an extra octave of deep, solid bass from your existing speakers! And no buzzy wheezy rattles. You may not need new ones! I was shocked. The second benefit is a noticeable reduction in road noise COMING FROM OTHER VEHICLES, ONLY. You will no longer hear cars passing, trains, etc. or at least very substantially reduced volumes. Unfortunately, this treatment will not significantly reduce the sound of your own tires, especially on pock marked pavement like concrete. Unfortunately, that is probably 60-70% of the sound you hear. You can only eliminate that with a wheel well sound damping product, or layers of dynamat or similar on the flooring, between you and the sound coming from the tires. That is very labor intensive, to completely strip your interior. I paid a local shop $250 labor to do all 4 doors.. and glad I did. Next I will install wheel well damper. 11 out of 11 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
