Our take on the MTX X ThunderLink XT110P

Want to add some big bass to your car? MTX offers a simple, straightforward answer to your needs: the X ThunderLink XT110P, a 10" powered subwoofer that'll deliver strong low-frequency output without hogging the room in your trunk or cargo area.

The durable enclosure houses a built-in amplifier that sends 100 watts to the 10" subwoofer, while an unpowered 10" passive radiator speaker cone adds extra bass response with reduced distortion. Shape the bass with convenient front-mounted controls for bass boost, volume, and crossover point. A wired remote lets you control the volume, crossover, and phase inversion from the driver's seat.

You can connect the X ThunderLink XT110P to almost any factory or aftermarket system, thanks to preamp- and speaker-level inputs. The included mounting brackets let you place the XT110P securely in the vertical or horizontal position. Add some fundamental fatness to your system with this versatile powered sub.

Protection Circuit: A thermal circuit turns the subwoofer off if the amp gets too hot, protecting it from permanent damage.

  • Bass Boost: adjust the bass boost from -3dB to +3dB
  • Crossover: 30-150Hz continuously variable
  • Volume: adjust the volume of the XT110P relative to the other speakers in the vehicle (after the bass boost is set)

  • Line Inputs (4-channels): Two pair of female RCA line inputs
  • Auto Turn-On Switch: activates the automatic turn-on circuit:
    • On: unit powers on when signal is detected and turns off about 30 seconds after no longer receiving signal
    • Off: unit powers on/off with the remote terminal voltage
  • Phase Switch: reverses the output of the subwoofer relative to its input, 0° or 180°
  • Remote Control Switch: turns the wired remote on/off
  • Remote Control Input: 6-pin DIN jack for connecting the wired remote control
  • Power Connections: gold-plated screw terminals for battery, ground, and remote turn on leads
  • Fuse: one 20-amp fuse

Perfect for me

Written By nelson, NY on Saturday, September 18, 2010

i have a 3 door ford focus and i have to say that this sub, for ANY small car, is more than enough punch. When i have people sitting in the back i get complaints bc the sub gets uncomfortable sometimes being right up against the seats. the controller it comes with is also VERY handy bc you can compensate for different songs you may have, whether the quality is better/worse or the song plain doesnt have much bass. in all i am very satisfied with the purchase, and the only problem ive had it that theres been no good place to mount it so far, but thats fords fault no the subs! DONT HESITATE TO BUY

Big sound with a small foot print

Written By EvoXguy, MD on Sunday, July 04, 2010

Placed with the woofer leaned up against and facing the backseats and the radiator facing the tail lights, this sub sounds great and picks up the low rumble frequencies of Hip Hop perfectly to round off a system that's missing the low notes (works best with a bass boost around 60Hz if you can adjust the bass settings such as on an Alpine receiver). It also tracks the higher frequency bass of rock and dance music just fine as well. Adjusting the sub volume for more of a presence, it simulates the booming systems pretty well but looses bass accuracy quicker as the volume increases. It works best if turned down so that it accompanies the music in the background rather than overworking it.

It produces the type of bass that can be heard, not felt. In other words, it doesn't push air with bass that you'll feel in your nose hairs. Windows down and road noise appears to cancel out much of the thump this sub puts out that was more noticeable when sitting parked. The sound it puts out is similar of a pc sub, sounds great and tracks the low notes adequately, it just doesn't hit hard for those of you that expect that.

I wanted a light weight, small footprint sub that sounds great and rounds off the missing bass notes, and can take a pounding for those times I do increase the volume (who drives around at max volume anyhow). This one's perfect on all counts. It looks real tough too with great high quality plastic construction and it blends in nicely in the trunk. Would buy again.

Killer Sub...Get It Now!!

Written By nate, Rochester NY. on Saturday, May 22, 2010

I have this sub installed in the trunk of my 1998 Nissan Maxima and let me tell you this thing sounds killer! The wired remote makes things very nice when it comes to tweaking the bass from song to song. Do your self a favor when buying this sub....be sure to put Dynamat under the sub and around the trunk erea...also BE SURE TO SCREW THE SUB TO THE TRUNK!!!...THIS WILL INCREASE THE BASS OUTPUT GREATLY....The mounting screws are provided with the sub.... I have a $2000 sub-woffer set up on my home theater system and can honestly say this thing sounds pretty close.....Worth the purchase...ENJOY!!

Perfect Jeep TJ Sub

Written By , New Mexico on Friday, April 16, 2010

This sub is a little big for a Jeep TJ, taking up about 4/10ths of the trunk but the sound quality makes up for it. This Sub bumps enough for any type of music. If you're looking for earth shaking (then you wouldn't be buying a powered sub) then this isn't your sub but it hits hard enough that I don't have it turned up all the way. From hip hop to country it sounds great.

Perfect Jeep TJ Sub

Written By Winston, NJ on Sunday, January 31, 2010

After doing some research i figured out that this sub was the perfect match for my
system in my 99' Jeep TJ Wrangler. I was looking for a sub that was capable of down
firing and this is an absolutely perfect fit after some minor adjusting to the mounting
hardware. As most Jeep owners know, getting bass in a jeep is fairly difficult, but i have
to say that this sub absolutely exceeded my expectations. i barely have the sub's volume
halfway and its perfect for trance, hiphop, etc. for rock and metal i have to turn the bass
down
even more!

If you are looking for a powered sub for you Jeep Wrangler look no further. this will fit
either standing up or downfiring in the trunk and it is plenty loud.

Great All in One Sub

Written By , Jemison, AL on Sunday, January 10, 2010

I purchased this for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. The truck is almost 10 years old and I just replaced the factory head unit with a Kenwood. I wanted to add a sub but nothing complex since this was my first sub/amp install and I was a bit intimidated. I purchased this unit based on the amp and sub being in one unit, the size, and the reviews were positive.

After some initial studying, I attempted the install and found it to be quite simple. I took my time and had success on the first try. This sub sounds great and is fully adjustable. Plus, it fits perfectly under the rear seat on the driver's side. I couldn't be happier with the product and with Crutchfield's service!

Written By , ANSONIA, CONNECTICUT on Wednesday, December 16, 2009

WELL, HAD UNIT INSTALLED PROFESSIONALLY AND IT FITS AND LOOKS GREAT IN
MY RAM 15OO STANDARD CAB BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT. UNFORTUNATELY I
CANNOT RATE THE SOUND QUALITY BECAUSE IT WAS DEFECTIVE RIGHT OUT OF
THE BOX. WHEN I GET THE NEW UNIT I WILL UPDATE. THESE THINGS HAPPEN,
THANKS TO THE GREAT RETURN POLICY WITH CRUTCHFIELD, I DON'T HAVE TO
WORRY!

MTX X ThunderLink XT110P

Written By Francis, long island, New York on Saturday, April 11, 2009

A great product. Doesn't cut out when it gets hot or when it's played for long periods of time. Bass sound is excellent. A lot of bass for the money. It doesn't play for the block, but it's loud enough for the vehicle.

Super Sub

Written By douglas, atlanta ga. on Monday, March 23, 2009

i installed this sub in my 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad cab, hat tip to the
reviewer above. it fit perfectly on the drivetrain tunnel behind the armrest
and the back seat. i have it hooked up to a Alpine CDA-9883 head unit and
this MTX sub thumps in my quad cab. i still gave it 5 stars even though the
remote control doesn't work with the Alpine. the headunit has a separate
sub control built in, i've got it maxxed out on 15 and it rocks the bottom
end. just set the crossover point and bass volume on the MTX Thunderlink
and you're good to go. great quality product from MTX and Crutchfield. very
pleased with this purchase. thanks Crutchfield Staff for answering my
questions about wiring this unit.

decent setup for light bass

Written By Joe, Houston, TX on Saturday, March 14, 2009

I installed this setup in my 2004 Honda Civic. It makes excellent bass for concert sound, but not if you want an ear blowing experience. I was alittle disappointed in it's performance, but it does improve bass quality in the vehicle when listening to music at mid. volume. This is an excellent system to use if you don't want to modify, or put a load on your vehicles charging system, which is one of the reasons why I bought it. It fits my needs perfectly since I have kids who's ears don't need to be subjected to extremely loud music.

The type of bass you get from your component subwoofer doesn't depend on the woofer alone. You'll need a strong, tightly constructed enclosure for optimum subwoofer performance.
