Features
Overview: The BG-E6 Battery Grip is designed for the Canon EOS
5D Mark II digital SLR camera. The battery grip can hold two LP-E6 battery packs or
six AA batteries (when using the included BGM-E6 battery magazine); batteries are
not included. The grip is equipped with several controls, placed for vertical use;
shutter button, main dial, AF Point selection/magnify button, AE Lock/FE Lock/index/reduce button,
AF start button, and on/off switch. With the switch in the off position the controls
on the camera body are still active.
Installation: Before installation, the battery and battery
compartment cover are removed from the camera. The BG-E6 then slides into the
battery compartment and mounts to the bottom of the camera, held in place by
threading the attachment screw into the camera's tripod insert. There's an
additional tripod insert on the bottom of the grip, so you can still use a
tripod or monopod. One or two LP-E6 batteries are installed in the battery
grip; power is effectively doubled when using two batteries. Six AA batteries
will power the camera when using the included BGM-E6 battery magazine. AA
batteries provide slightly less power than a single LP-E6. The battery grip adds
approximately 1-7/8" to the height of the camera.
Battery Life: Approximate number of shots available using
the viewfinder (73° Fahrenheit/32° Fahrenheit):
- LP-E6 x 2: 1700/1500
- AA alkaline batteries x 6: 300/100
Weight: Approximately 11.1 oz./315 g (without batteries or battery
magazine)
