Product Research

Features

Overview: The BG-E8 Battery Grip is designed for the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i digital SLR camera. The battery grip can hold two LP-E8 battery packs (with included BGM-E8L magazine) or six "AA" batteries (with included BGM-E8A battery magazine); batteries are not included. The grip is equipped with several controls, placed for vertical use; shutter button, main dial, Aperture/exposure compensation button, AF Point selection/magnify button, AE Lock/FE Lock/index/reduce button, and on/off switch. With the switch in the off position the controls on the camera body are still active.

Installation: Before installation, the battery and battery compartment cover are removed from the camera. The BG-E8 then slides into the battery compartment and mounts to the bottom of the camera, held in place by threading the attachment screw into the camera's tripod insert. There's an additional tripod insert on the bottom of the grip, so you can still use a tripod or monopod. One or two LP-E8 batteries are installed in the BGM-E8L magazine; power is effectively doubled when using two batteries. Six "AA" batteries will power the camera when using the included BGM-E8A battery magazine. "AA" batteries provide slightly less power than a single LP-E8. The battery grip adds approximately 1-3/4" to the height of the camera.
