Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Accessories Our take on the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens by Woody Sherman World traveler You and this lens should log some quality time together. With a fixed f/4.0 maximum aperture throughout its zoom range, you'll have excellent light sensitivity even at full magnification. Canon's acclaimed image stabilization technology improves low-light performance, enabling you to use shutter speeds much slower than you'd ordinarily employ. This lens will give you great, artifact-free close-ups, and expansive-yet-vibrant panoramas while you're documenting that once-in-a-lifetime road trip. This could end up being your main "go-to" glass. An ultra-quiet USM motor gives quick and accurate autofocus response while shooting fast and unpredictable subjects. And, like all of Canon's L-series lenses, the optics rank among the industry's best. Aspherical elements and Super-UD glass mean faithful image transmission with minimal color fringing or blurred edges. It covers a wide range of focal lengths from wide angle to telephoto. The lens features a built-in Image Stabilizer (IS), as well as an Ultrasonic Motor (USM). The lens is constructed of 18 lens elements in 13 groups for truly exceptional imaging capability. Image Stabilizer (IS): The built-in Image Stabilizer can be used in the AF (autofocus) or MF (manual focus) modes. The Image Stabilizer gives the equivalent effect of a shutter speed three stops faster. The 2-position switch located on the barrel of the lens allows you to turn the image stabilizer on and off. Ultrasonic Motor (USM): The EF24-105mm lens is equipped with a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) for silent, high-speed auto focusing. Focusing Ring: Regardless of whether you're in manual or auto focus mode, the focusing ring always works. This means you can auto focus on a subject, but manually change the focus by turning the focusing ring. Lens Hood: The included EW-83H lens hood can keep unwanted light out of the lens, and protect the lens from rain, snow, and dust. You can reverse-mount the lens hood on the lens for storage. Optional Filters: The EF24-105mm lens has a 77mm mounting thread on the front of lens for attaching screw-on type filters.Specifications: Aperture: f/4 Minimum Focus Distance: 1.5 feet Angle of View: Diagonal: 84° to 23° 20' Vertical: 53° to 13° Horizontal: 74° to 19° 20' Dimensions: 3.3" Diameter, 4.2" Length, 23.6 Ounces Product Reviews Review Summary Average Customer Review: 1 people say: 5 Star: (1) 4 Star: (0) 3 Star: (0) 2 Star: (0) 1 Star: (0) Review this product Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences about this product. I use it for professional work and for hobby applications. I find it to be the perfect zoom range for most of my applications, even on a crop sensor camera. The image quality is exactly what I would expect from an "L" series lens. The images are razor sharp at every aperture setting and at all focal lengths. Autofocus is fast and quiet. Image Stabilizer is helpful indoors. If you're looking to upgrade to an exceptional lens, this versatile lens is well worth the money! A lens hood and soft case are included. Pros: Image quality, build quality, versatility. Cons: None... You get what you pay for. 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
