Parrot's MINIKIT Slim hands-free car kit lets you take full advantage of your Bluetooth phone in your car. Its excellent sound quality allows you to converse without straining to hear, while you keep both hands on the wheel. You can also use the MINIKIT Slim for talking on the phone at home while preparing meals, at work while you're using the computer, or doing any other tasks which require both hands.

You can take the MINIKIT Slim portable speakerphone with you in any vehicle. Slide it on your car's visor and use the 3-button keypad to dial, hang up, or change the volume coming through the MINIKIT's advanced flat-panel speaker.

The kit connects with your Bluetooth mobile phone automatically — it uses its own built-in voice-recognition software instead of your phone's, so you don't have to touch your phone while driving. The MINIKIT Slim can pair with up to five compatible phones or devices simultaneously.

Noise-reducing technology allows you to hear your callers clearly, and have a conversation in your car without raising your voice. An omnidirectional microphone ensures every word will get transmitted, and you can use your phone up to 33 feet away from the MINIKIT Slim. It's easy to use — just say a stored name and the MINIKIT Slim will dial the number. With select phones, you can store up to 150 different names from your address book.

The compact MINIKIT Slim fits in your pocket or bag, and it works with most Bluetooth mobile phones. Charge it up with the included car charger, and you'll get up to 10 hours of talk time, plus 20 days of standby power.

Overview: The Parrot MiniKit Slim is a Bluetooth wireless kit which lets you talk on your mobile phone hands-free. Its built-in rechargeable battery and sun visor clip let you use the device at your home, office, or in the car.

Bluetooth Wireless Technology: The Bluetooth wireless technology enables voice and data to be sent via a short-distance radio link. It connects a wide range of electronic equipment without requiring additional cables. As such, it extends the communication possibilities for mobile phones and other electronic devices.

Compatibility: The MiniKit Slim has been tested and found compatible with multiple Bluetooth phone models from the brands listed below; see Parrot's web site for a full list of compatible phones. The unit is capable of pairing up to 5 different Bluetooth compatible mobile phones.

High-Fidelity Sound: The MiniKit Slim is a Bluetooth hands-free mobile speaker phone. It features full duplex speaker phone, Parrot's NR3 noise reduction, and AEC-2 echo cancellation. Instead of a conventional speaker, Parrot uses vibrating panel technology, the top panel is connected to the audio circuit and vibrates to reproduce natural, open sound. The unit also has a built-in, high sensitivity omni directional microphone.

Built-In Rechargeable Battery: The MiniKit Slim uses an internal, rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The battery should be charged before its initial use. The battery has a talk time of approximately 15 hours and a standby time of over 20 days. It takes approximately 4 hours to recharge the battery. The MiniKit Slim comes supplied with a cigarette lighter charger for the car and a USB cable for charging with your computer. The charging LED on the MiniKit Slim will illuminate red when the unit is charging and turn off when the device is fully charged.

Sun Visor Clip: A sun visor bracket is supplied for fitting the Parrot MiniKit Slim to the sun visor of your vehicle, so that it can be used as a hands-free kits in your car. The MiniKit Slim can also be used in your home or office.

Soft-Touch Controls: The MiniKit Slim features the following soft-touch controls.

Button with Green LED: allows you to make or answer a call as well as redial a number (hold button for 2 seconds)
Button with Red LED: allows you to hang up or reject a call
Rotary Knob: adjusts the volume during calls, scrolls through menus - press knob to confirm selections

Dialing: When making a call from your mobile phone's keypad, the call automatically will change to hands-free mode and switch to the MiniKit Slim device once you have paired your mobile phone with the MiniKit Slim.

Voice Recognition: The Parrot MiniKit Slim is designed to simplify calling with your mobile phone with voice-tags. It uses its own voice recognition feature, not your phone's, so you don't have to touch your phone while driving. The contacts in your phone can be stored as voice-tags in the MiniKit Slim so you can instantly dial a phone number by pushing the green button on the MiniKit Slim and saying the contact's name. You can store up to 150 voice-tags per phone.

Note: To use the unit's voice recognition feature, you must send the contacts from your phone to the Parrot MiniKit Slim via Bluetooth (if your phone supports this feature).

Updating: The Parrot MiniKit Slim can be updated through the USB port. Update instructions appear in the support section of Parrot's website, www.parrot.com. Updating can make the MiniKit Slim compatible with more source devices.

Good Product So Far

Got this for my wife since she insists on talking on her cell while driving. It was the easiest Bluetooth pairing I've ever done. I didn't realize it at first, but it synced her entire contact list when I did the pairing. I wish the factory installed Bluetooth in my SUV was this easy.

The clip needs to be bigger or better able to handle thick, non-flexible sun visors- but otherwise it's easy to install. Voice recognition seems to work fine, but we'll have to see after my wife makes more calls. Call quality seems pretty good- a little static- but nothing too bad.

I would recommend this to anyone without factory Bluetooth- or for someone who doesn't want to wear an earpiece. For the price, it seems like a no-brainer.
