Product Research
Features
Overview: DPX Auxiliary input converters by PIE (Precision Interface Electronics) are designed to convert the CD Changer port of the OEM radio (with CD Changer controls) into an auxiliary input. Devices such as Satellite Radios, DVD Players, VCRs, MP3 Players, and Game Systems can be added to the OEM radio without an FM Modulator. DPX Technology maintains full function of all factory steering wheel and rear seat controls.
Compatibility: The BMW-AUX allows you to add an auxiliary input to the factory radio in select 1995-up BMW vehicles. The adapter connects to the 3-pin and 6-pin CD changer cables found in the OEM CD changer location (even if there was no OEM CD changer), avoiding wire splicing and modifications.
- BMW 3-Series (1998-up)
- BMW 5-Series (1995-2003)
- BMW X5 (2000-up)
- BMW Mini (2002-up)
Note: The adapter takes the place of the factory CD-changer, so you cannot have a CD-changer and the adapter connected to your factory radio at the same time.
Mounting: The adapter can be secured to any flat surface using the module's integrated mounting flanges and optional mounting screws (not included).
Connections: The BMW-AUX features a female RCA input to connect your portable auxiliary audio source. The auxiliary input interface also features proprietary 6-pin and 3-pin jacks for connecting the BMW-AUX to the 3-pin and 6-pin cables in the CD changer location.

It was easy to connect to the 6 and 3 pin connectors and took about an hour to run the RCA cable to the front of the car into the console and connect a sat radio. It's a basic use item, but it does what it is advertised to do.
