Two issues- once you set your PS3 to work with this remote, your Sony PS3 remote is no longer linked. I have a harmony RF remote, if you want the RF reciever to talk to this adapter you need to go to the RF setting on the remote and click the box beside the PS3 so it will send the signal via RF instead of IR.
