Our take on the Logitech® Squeezebox™ Touch

Add wide-ranging music options to any audio system in your home. The Squeezebox Touch connects to your home network for easy access to music from your computer or the Internet. It features a large touchscreen for easy song selection and playback adjustments. Simply touch the screen to start browsing music according to album, artist, or song. View digital photos on the player's display: you can insert an SD™ card loaded with images into the built-in card slot, or call up pictures from your Facebook™ or Flickr™ accounts. The included remote lets you control playback from the comfort of your couch.

Easy setup with your home network

Setup is as simple as downloading the SlimServer software to your PC and adding this player to your home network. Built-in Wi-Fi® makes hookup even easier if you've got a wireless router or access point. If you prefer to make a wired connection, use the Squeezebox Touch's Ethernet port. Digital and analog audio outputs let you hook this player up to just about any audio system.

Stream an array of digital music formats from a variety of sources

This versatile system lets you access music from many venues — play your computer's digital music collection, listen to Internet radio stations, or subscribe to an online music library like Rhapsody®. The Squeezebox Touch supports today's popular audio formats, including compressed, uncompressed, and even lossless files.

MOG

MOG — over 15 million songs, available instantly

MOG is an award-winning online music service with one of the largest and best-sounding streaming catalogs in the industry. It's the only service to offer all of its music in the 320 kbps MP3 format — that higher bit rate translates to better sound. In fact, we use it frequently in the Crutchfield Labs to test high-end audio gear. MOG's "Primo" service ($9.99/month) gives you unlimited, ad-free access to their extensive music library of over 15 million songs on a wide range of devices including Squeezebox™ network music players, Samsung TVs, your computer, iPad®, iPhone®, and Android™ devices.

Create a multi-room music system

Use additional Squeezebox Touch players or other Squeezebox devices to enjoy music in more areas of your home. If you have a Squeezebox Duet, you can use its LCD remote to control this player and your other Squeezebox music players.

Great digital music server!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Crutchfield Customer Review

The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order.

I purchased the Logitech Squeezebox Touch after doing a lot of research
ahead of time. I wanted an easy-to-use digital music server at a reasonable
price. This product fit the bill perfectly. It took longer to unpack than it did to set
up on my encrypted wireless network - I was up & running within 10 minutes -
an amazingly simple process. It is being run with an optical cable to my
Harman Kardon 3490 receiver using Bose 301 bookshelf speakers and a
Harmony One remote.

I did a lot of prep work before the Touch arrived - getting my metadata in order,
my Squeezebox account set up, & my digital files read into the Squeezebox
server which sped up the process. The Touch is very flexible & will play a
variety of file formats. It reads the majority of my music from iTunes, but I also
have a large number of flac-format files that I have in a separate directory
under "Music" in Vista that it will read & play. It also has no problem handling
high def files such as 88 kHz/24 bit & 96 kHz/24 bit. I also use it to play many
of my favorite Internet radio stations that I previously could only listen to with
my PC.

I am beyond pleased with the sound quality, ease of use, and the ability to
customize the display. I have not tried the Touch with an attached, external
USB hard drive but I am using it with "cloud" storage so that I don't have to
leave my PC on all the time and this works perfectly also.

This is yet another quality product from an always reliable Crutchfield.

Analog or Digital: Squeezebox Touch Nails Them Both

Written By ChuckS, Sonoma County, CA on Saturday, May 07, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Crutchfield Customer Review

The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order.

After much research I decided the Squeezebox Touch (SBT) was the best music
streaming solution for me. By the time Crutchfield emailed me it was on sale
($25 off) and free shipping I had already downloaded MySqueezebox software
and a pdf of the owners manual (that's right, they emailed me upon my request!
Too cool!). Order arrived timely and well packaged. I decided to use the
coax digital connection to my 7.1 home theater setup with a 25 foot cable so I
can relax in my usual chair and have touchscreen in hand (too far for the optical
output). I use the Logic mode (coincidentally named} on my Harmon Kardon
receiver with most music and after the 10 min. easy-breezy set-up it was how I
listened to the SBT. Awesome! Internet radio, Pandora and access to my own
thousands of songs AND quality sound! Intuitive controls, lotsa' capabilities.
Have also tried it out with my near field analog rig which is a Jolida tube amp
with Celestion A-series speakers (same as home theater speakers). Superior
results! Wide soundstage, very intimate and warm sound, cd quality and an
ENDLESS VARIETY OF MUSIC!! One note, our puppy used the power cord for
dental floss the first night I had the SBT (puppy is ok). I called Logitech, explained
why I wanted to buy a power supply and they mailed me one ASAP for free.
Wow!
Great product. Great retailer. Great manufacturer. This product and Cruthchfield
could not be more highly recommended by me! Thanks!!

Shockingly Cool and Useful Music Device

Crutchfield Customer Review

The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order.

The Squeezebox Touch is a pleasantly startling little device. It took all of about two
minutes to hook the thing up to my Onkyo A/V receiver. Begin cranking clear,
precision sounds from Rhapsody through my home stereo system and was
impressed with the ease of navigating the touch screen. The online apps are
bountiful and I have really only scratched the surface as far as the multitude of music
station options and genres. The standard receiver AM/FM tuner options now seem
like relics from a quaint century long ago as the Sqeezebox Touch is now the focal
point for sytem music . No matter what your music preferences, this amazing piece
of equipment genuinely rounds out any music system! If you have powered speakers
and/or a home audio sytem, this device is a valuable enhancement for any music
lover!

As the ultimate gadget freak I was excited to get one of these and see how it performs. Not to sound to ASTOUNDED...but this is easyily the best music device that I have purchased over the years. My initial purpose was to just use it as an Internet radio. Since then I have found I have liberated my music collection in ways that I never thought were possible. Without getting to technical, the squeezebox server software is the best technique I have come across to play your music. You will never use itunes or another pc app again......The user interface is very intuative, and not cluttered like apps have become on your pc. The hardware is classy and brilliant with all the outputs you could ask for....digital coax, spdif to name a few. Yes, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would reccomend to anyone with a large music collection. The Internet Radio is just a side benifit. Logitech Design Staff...Job Well Done!!

Hello, I have been using this for about 1 week and it works as advertised. I received it quickly and in excellent condition form the folks at Cruchfield. It took only 10 min to set up and I was searching for music on my wireless network. I suggest setting up a pandora account for free using a home computer. I love this product so far and would recomment it.

I wanted an internet radio that would also play my music. I am converting all my LPs and CDs to FLAC files and storing them on 32gb SD cards which the Squeezebox Touch will play. What a perfect access to any music I can imagine. Logitech could provide easier access to their manual.

I had the original Slim Device Squeezebox and loved it. Now with my new Logitech Squeezebox it's like heaven. The display is a great improvement over the old display. Sounds is awesome. Radio stations everywhere...... only complaint is its not WiFi N 5.0......still the old WiFi G 2.4......that would be a real plus in my book

I was streaming mp3s from my iPad to my stereo and it was just OK - listening to
CDs, I could tell a significant difference. Took me all of 15 minutes to hook
up the Squeezebox and now I'm streaming FLACs from my harddrive - the sound is
the same as a CD. Will rip all my CDs to FLAC and have them instantly
accessible! Plus the apps available for internet radio are great, as well.
This may be the best piece of technology I've purchased in the last 5 years!
