Our take on the Logitech® Squeezebox™ Radio

The Squeezebox Radio brings the world of Internet music to your nightstand or kitchen countertop. It connects to your Wi-Fi® or wired home network and lets you choose from thousands of Internet radio stations. You can also enjoy personalized music services such as Pandora®, Slacker®, Last.fm, and Rhapsody®. Tap into the music stored on your computer, or listen to a portable MP3 player you connect to the Squeezebox Radio's auxiliary input.

Great sound and a color LCD screen, too
This compact network music player features a mono speaker system with a separate woofer and tweeter that can put out big, clean sound. The 2-3/8" color screen displays song info, station IDs and other text clearly. It can also show screen savers, visualizers, and other graphics from your streaming sources. Six preset buttons let you quickly access your favorite Internet radio stations.

Clock radio features
The Squeezebox Radio features a built-in digital clock with a sleep timer. When connected to the Internet, the Squeezebox automatically self-corrects its time — no need to reset it. And you can program your alarm to go off at a different time each day of the week, to fully accommodate your schedule.

Simple Internet setup
Just download Logitech's free Squeezebox Server software to your computer, and set up your preferences. When you turn the Squeezebox Radio on for the first time, it automatically seeks out your Wi-Fi connection, and once logged on, remembers the setting — even if the power goes off.

From the review Spotlight on the Logitech Squeezebox Radio
"The Squeezebox Radio is an extra-strength table radio. I got the wide-ranging music options that I would expect of a wireless music player, with the added bonus of countertop-friendly size. And I got a little something extra with Facebook and Flickr."

Squeezebox = modern portable radio fun

Written By LM, Contoocook, NH on Thursday, February 09, 2012

Overcame initial and frequent "network dropped" challenge. Tried the factory reset to no avail. Tech support for my router talked me through changing the router channel. Problem solved. Easy start up. So much can be done with this cute little internet radio. What are you in the mood for? One of your Pandora stations? Radio - news, music? What genre or town or country? You can search radio stations by category or look up a station you know. You can do a lot right on the radio or through web portal. We found a fun "vintage jazz" station and were entertained listening to a Swedish kids station. We use it in the kitchen during meal prep, in the living room while playing games, while cleaning in the office... Portable. Sound is good. If I want great sound I turn on the stereo instead. Much better than listening to a smartphone or i-device.
Pros:
Easy way to listen to Pandora (computers not tied up). Endless internet radio options. Price was right - inexpensive entree into the world of internet radio.
Cons:
Overcame the network issue (it was our router) so no real cons. Oh, it would have been nice if Logitech included the battery pack.

Awesome

Thank god for this radio. The only alternative station went off the air in Phoenix. Local radio is terrible. Now I can stream KROQ in LA for some decent music from my alarm clock in my bedroom. Buy with confidence.

EXCELLENT AUDIO!

Written By Chrissy, Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

I purchased this radio after reading all of the reviews. With the new software update, this radio plays flawlessly and consistently any internet radio station, most especially Pandora where I can listen to my favorite artists anytime throughout my home. I would love to know how to add other speakers to this tiny system! This is an excellent gift to give to yourself, your guests, your family, and your dogs and cats, just like I do!
Pros:
Excellent sound, ease of use, consistently reliable--doesn't break down with new software update, portable, and screen size is perfect to entertain. Price at Crutchfield was the best from any other site on the internet!!! Thank you!!
Cons:
I can think of none!

Logitech® Squeezebox™ Radio

Written By Derek, Amesbury, Ma on Wednesday, January 25, 2012

I got this to be a satelite sound system to bring background music into the dining room. For that use it's perfect. It's small (wife loves that) and fits out of the way when not in use. The sound is very good for the size. It's a great add on to the logitech system I have in the kitchen. I considered Sono's and went with Kramer's advice of the Logitech and am very happy. Very good product, especially good value.

Love this thing

Written By cjk, Iowa on Monday, October 31, 2011

This is a lot to spend on a clock radio, but I love this thing. You need to be a bit geeky or have access to a geek to rig it to its full potential. Access to virtually every radio station on the planet along with my pandora and SiriusXM accounts is great. I'm going to get one for my office and maybe another for my main stereo to line-in from the headphones jack.

As great as it is i have to withhold 1 star because of the mediocre exterior design.
Pros:
- i can listen to almost every radio station on the planet. - automatically recognized my location and listed my "local" stations so setup of those stations was a breeze. - Pandora support is the best - access my SiriusXM subscription - AM stations are clear - high quality with spotty wireless - access to stations I used to enjoy in Chicago - great alarm clock (multiple alarms with their own days/times, cool nature sounds) - sound quality exceeds expectations
Cons:
- initially I couldn't get the power cord to work - had to wiggle it quite a bit and tried a few outlets and then it finally woke up. - during initial setup it updated its firmware/software and some of the buttons didn't work. Just had to reboot. - need to backlight the buttons (it's an alarm clock which means low light conditions!) - Program the Earth in 6 presets? come on. I need at least a dozen (add the "Favorites" function to the top of the main menu to solve this problem).
