A concealed handle lets you transport the SUBX2 with ease, and its clean, uncluttered look lends a touch of style wherever you use it.

The SUBX2 sports a high-performance 3-way speaker system. Separate tweeters and midrange speakers combine with a single subwoofer to provide dynamic full-range sound, while the built-in amplifier delivers strong performance.

While at home or at the office, power up the boombox with the included AC adapter. If you're on the go, you can operate the SUBX2 on eight "D" batteries. Use the detachable windowsill antenna to optimize signal reception. You can listen to other audio devices through the SUBX2's auxiliary input.

Features

Overview: The SUBX2 Portable SIRIUS Satellite Radio Boombox is designed to interface with most SIRIUS dock-and-play radios that have the new Universal Connector. The boombox's built-in handle, built-in speakers, integrated antenna wire management system, and battery powered operation give your plug-and-play receiver portability, allowing you to take the unit virtually anywhere.

Note: For the system to work, you'll need a subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio in addition to the SIRIUS tuner.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio: SIRIUS Satellite Radio features more than 120 streams of original programming beamed coast-to-coast, including 65 streams of commercial-free, digital-quality music, and news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming.

Note: Satellite radio service is available only within the continental United States. Service is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.

SIRIUS Radio Compatibility: The SUBX2 Portable SIRIUS Satellite Radio Boombox will support the following SIRIUS dock-and-play radios with the new Universal Connector.

Note: This unit is not compatible with Sportster 3 or 4 and older model SIRIUS radios.

Antenna: The unit comes with a SIRIUS satellite antenna with a 19.5' cable. The antenna cable has a single SMB connector. You must place the antenna in a location that has a relatively clear view of the SIRIUS satellite paths. For convenience, the antenna can be placed on a horizontal surface using its integrated four rubber feet or mounted vertically to a wall using its four integrated keyhole slots. The antenna has the following dimensions: Width=2.595", Height=1.4375" (3.625" with antenna raised), Depth=3.215".

Note: SIRIUS has three satellites that fly in a figure-8 pattern that crosses the central U.S.. Antenna placement will depend upon where you live in the continental United States.

Antenna Storage: The antenna cradle and cable storage feature located on back of the boombox allows you to take your antenna with you.

Auxiliary Input: This unit uses a front panel 3.5mm mini-jack input to let you connect additional audio components to the boombox.

Headphone Input: The boombox features a front panel 3.5mm headphone jack out so you can listen to your SIRIUS satellite radio stations in privacy.

Dynamic Sound: Full range sound is provided by a 2.1 speaker system with separate tweeters, midrange speakers and powerful subwoofer.

Bass Enhancement: The unit feature bass enhancement technology that improves low end sound giving you better bass response.

Power Options: The boombox can be operated on household AC current when the supplied AC adapter is used. The unit can also operate using 8 "D" batteries (sold separately), allowing you to take it with you wherever you go. The batteries are automatically bypassed whenever the AC adapter is plugged into the unit.

The boombox arrived at my door in two days, with regular free shipping. Crutchfield had the lowest price and free shipping.

The bass sound of this equipment is excellent. In my five year old boombox that this model replaced, I used batteries once. The batteries powered it for a few hours, so I looked around and found an old 12 volt cigarette lighter plug that fit the boombox and never purchased batteries again.
