Features
Marine Rated: The
AB Amplifier Design: The ME-400 is a class
AB amplifier using a high-efficiency Mosfet 4-channel design that offers crisp,
clean audio power. The amp also features a high-efficient, heavy aluminum heat
sink to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Soft Turn On/Off: The 4-channel marine amp
is equipped with Soft Turn On/Off circuitry that prevents turn-on/off thump when
the amp is first turned on or off.
Bridgeable: In addition to its normal
4-channel configuration, the marine amplifier can be bridged for a 2-way or
3-way application. The amplifier is stable at 2-ohm in stereo mode and 4-ohm in
bridged mode.
Independent Gain Controls: The marine
amplifier features independent gain controls for channel 1/2 and 3/4 so you can
match your head-units output voltage to the amplifiers input voltage for your
front and rear speakers.
Built-In Crossovers: The ME-400 features
independent crossover control for channels 1/2 and channels 3/4. You can select
either full-range, low-pass or high-pass. The low-pass and high-pass crossovers
can be adjusted between 40 to 250 Hz at a 12 dB per octave slope.
EQ Bass: The amplifier also features
independent bass boost for channels 1/2 and channel 3/4. You can adjust the bass
boost from 0 to 18 dB at a fixed 45 Hz.
Protection Circuitry: The amplifier's
protection circuitry protects the amplifier from Thermal overload, Short-circuit
and Reverse polarity. The amp features a Green LED power indicator and a Red LED
protection mode indicator.
Mounting Feet: The amplifier comes
equipped with four self-adhesive rubber-mounting feet that isolate vibration.
Controls
Amplifiers Controls: All of the
amplifier's controls are located on the left-hand side of the amplifier for
convenient access.
- Gain Dials: The unit features two
gain controls; one for channels 1/2 and the other for channels 3/4.
- Crossover Switches: The amplifier
features two crossover switches that allow you to select either Hi-pass,
Low-pass or Full-range for the 1/2 channels and the 3/4 channels.
- Crossover Dials: The amp uses two
crossover controls that can be adjusted from 40 to 250 Hz for the 1/2
channels and the 3/4 channels.
- EQ-Bass: The amp utilizes two EQ-Bass
controls to adjust the bass boost of both the 1/2 channels and the 3/4
channels from 0 to 18 dB at a fixed 45 Hz.
Connections
Left-Side Connections: The following
connections are located on the left-hand side of the amplifier.
- Low Input: The amplifier utilizes two
pair of gold-plated RCA inputs to provide a secure connection and excellent
signal transfer for its 4-channels.
Right-Side Connections: The following
connections are located on the right-hand side of the amplifier.
- Power: The marine amplifier features
a gold-plated set-screw terminal that will accept from 10 to 4-AWG wire for
the power connection.
- Ground: The marine amplifier features
a gold-plated set-screw terminal that will accept from 10 to 4-AWG wire for
the ground connection.
- Remote: The marine amplifier features
a gold-plated set-screw terminal that will accept 16 to 8-AWG wire for the
turn-on lead.
- Speaker Output: The marine amplifier
features 4 pair of gold-plated screw terminals that will accept 16 to 8-AWG
wire for the speaker outputs.
- Fuses: The amplifier has two 20-amp
fuses inserted into it's chassis.
