Features
Overview: The Cell2Tel Bluetooth (2.0 compliant) Gateway C2T-XT2000 model lets you
easily combine your land line service (VoIP, traditional or cable company) and
home or small office telephone system with up to two Bluetooth mobile phones, so
you can make and receive cell phone calls using your home phone.
You can even cancel your home phone service completely and just use your mobile
service, cell phone and home phones with the Cell2tel.
Landline or No-Landline Connection: To use the Cell2Tel, connect your normal corded or
cordless telephone into the phone connection jack (RJ-11) on the back of the
Cell2Tel with a standard telephone cable. Your house phone is now your extension
telephone to your mobile phone. To use your telephone service line (landline),
connect the telephone service line to the designate telephone line connection
(RJ-11) on back of the Cell2Tel.
Pairing Phones: The Cell2Tel can be paired (connected) to up to two
different Bluetooth enabled cell phones.
Automatic Bluetooth Connection: Once a cell phone has been paired, the
Cell2Tel will automatically try to connect wirelessly. When the cell phone goes
out of range, the corresponded cell phone line status light will flash slowly to
indicate it is not connected and is searching for the cell phone. When the cell
phone comes into range of the Cell2Tel, connection will occur automatically and
the line status light will turn solid amber to indicate and active connection.
Manual Bluetooth Connection: You may not want live cell calls to be
transferred automatically or you may want to force your cell phone to disconnect
from the Cell2Tel.
Placing Calls: Cell2Tel is designed to work either with your
standalone home phone independent of your telephone service, or with your
telephone service. If connected to a telephone service line (landline), the
Cell2Tel will dial out from your home phone using the land line. You can choose
to dial using your Bluetooth enabled cell phone by selecting the appropriate
cell phone line you wish to dial out from. If the Cell2Tel is not connected to a
telephone service line, the Cell2Tel uses the lowest cell phone line number with
a connected paired cell phone for outgoing calls.
Receiving Calls: When a Bluetooth enabled cell phone has been paired
and is currently connected with the Cell2Tel, the telephone plugged into the
Cell2Tel will also ring. Each line will have its own distinctive ring pattern.
You may also recognize which line is ring by looking at the status light on top
of the Cell2Tel.
Speed Dialing: Some cell phone support speed dialing. The Cell2Tell
allows you to access speed dials through and from extension telephones.
Voice Mail: You can access your cell phone voice mail from an
extension telephone. Before this features will work, you will need to program
your voice mail number into the Cell2Tel.
Call ID: Caller ID will display the incoming call information on the
LCD of your extension sets. For this feature to work, both the cell phone and
your extension telephones must support caller ID.
Call Waiting: While using the Cell2Tel, you may access the Call
Waiting feature for as may as 6 calls at the same time. Calls may be received
through the two cell phone lines made possible via paired connections between
the Cell2Tel and two Bluetooth enabled cellular phones. Call may also be
received via a third line made possible using landline service.
Voice Dialing: If your cell phone supports voice dialing, the Cell2Tel
will be able to access this feature.
USB Port: The Cell2Tel Bluetooth Gateway features a USB type-A port
and comes supplied with a USB cable to connect to your PC (XP or Vista) to
download updates (firmware) for future cell phone models.
