Our take on the AudioQuest OptiLink-A

Get a distortion-free connection between your digital audio components with Audioquest's OptiLink-A cable. AudioQuest's cable designs come from years of in-house research and careful engineering to provide the best performance possible. Their OptiLink-A cable uses a finely polished, low distortion polymer fiber to minimize signal loss and jitter (time-based distortion). Each plug also has a brass ferrule to reinforce the cable's connection, which helps ensure ideal light transmission, for the highest quality sound.

Since an optical cable carries signals as pulses of light rather than as a stream of electrons, it is virtually impervious to magnetic or electrical interference.

Features

Overview: This package contains a 1-meter Audioquest OptiLink-A Toslink Optical cable.

Construction: Audioquest OptiLink-A Toslink Optical cable features a thoroughly engineered, finely polished synthetic polymer fiber conductor to minimize signal loss and jitter (time-based distortion). The plug's brass ferrule also contributes to ideal light transmission and the highest quality sound. The conductor is surrounded by flexible black PVC and a striped black PVC jacket. AudioQuest OptiLink-A

Written By Nekoman, Hollywood, FL on Friday, February 03, 2012

I bought the AudioQuest OptiLink-A to go with my Panasonic Viera TCP50GT30 television. I learned my lesson years back by using the supplied cable and getting a snowy picture. I bought quality cables and the snow vanished. From that point on I only use quality cables! Same review for AudioQust HDMI Forest. You will notice the difference!
Pros:
Quality cable

AudioQuest OptiLink-A

Written By larry, palmdale,Ca. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Well I compared your optical cord to Monster box optical cord, your cord did'nt
fit into both the input and out jacks on my receiver or the Direct T.V. box
inputs or My Samsung 70 inch television inputs as well as the Monster Box cable,
the monster box cable fit tighter and the sound and picture and sound was
better, the AudioQuest cable wanted to come out and the fit was flemsey. By far
the Monster box was better. I'm sorry but that's my personal opinion. Maybe
something can be done about how it fits into the different input jacks.

AudioQuest OptiLink-A

I could tell the different right away between this optical cable vs. coaxial cable in clarity, depth, & distortion. I have not compared different brands of optical cable for a fair comparison, but I highly recommended this cable over any coaxials.

This will be an amazing additon to your surrond sound experience! The clarity of the sound is exciting, and far beyond that which we had with the cable set up. Well worth the $ if you want crystal clear dialogue and music.

What a difference over analog audio cables! TV sound was ok with analog cables, but the sound is excellent with the optical digital audio cable. I would highly recommend this product.
