Iconic Klipsch design

Over the years Klipsch has become famous for their Tractrix® horn-loaded tweeter. This design produces clear, accurate high frequencies. The R-26F utilizes this tweeter along with two 6-1/2" copper spun woofers to create natural, full-range sound with solid bass response. It's also very efficient, so you won't need a lot of power to drive it. Two sets of sturdy 5-way binding posts allow for bi-amping or bi-wiring.

Build a complete Reference system

Add more bass to a pair of R-26Fs with a matching subwoofer, or team them with other Klipsch Reference speakers for high-impact home theater.

Product Research

Features

1" Horn-Loaded Tweeter: The R-26F floorstanding speaker features Klipsch's proprietary Tractrix Horn technology mated with a 1" aluminum LTS tweeter, for impressive high-end response and greater extension, enhanced imaging and powerful dynamics.

  • Tractrix Horn Technology: The square Tractrix Horn delivers a 90° (w) x 90° (h) dispersion pattern for a broader sound-stage.
  • LTS (Linear Travel Suspension): Behind each horn lies a 1.0-inch aluminum tweeter with a linear travel suspension to minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance.

Dual 6.5" Copper-Spun IMG Woofers: The Klipsch R-26F floorstanding speaker is outfitted with two 6.5" Copper-Spun IMG woofers. The Copper-Spun IMG (Injection Molded Graphite) woofer is exceptionally light while being extremely rigid - providing remarkable low frequency response, with minimal cone breakup and distortion.

Front-Firing Port: The Klipsch Reference series floorstanding speaker features a front-firing port that is perfectly matched to the cabinet and drivers. The front placement of the port creates ideal airflow with minimal distortion.

MDF Cabinet: The Klipsch R-26F floorstanding speaker features a MDF cabinet with a brushed polymer veneer black finish that seamlessly integrates into almost any room or decor. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is utilized because of its damping characteristics for natural, uncolored sound without unwanted vibration and distortion.

Acoustically Transparent Grille: The Klipsch R-26F floorstanding loudspeaker comes with a removable, black cloth grille that is acoustically transparent.

Dual 5-Way Binding Posts: The Klipsch Reference series floorstanding speaker is fitted with two sets of 5-way binding posts connected by jumpers. Using the dual binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single or dual), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and bare wire (up to 10AWG).

Integrated Rubber Feet: The Klipsch R-26F floorstanding speaker features four integrated rubber feet for placing the speaker securely and safely on your hardwood, laminate, or tile floor (these rubber feet should never be removed). The floorstanding speaker does not come with any carpet spikes.

Placement: For optimum performance, Klipsch suggests placing the floorstanding speakers 6' to 15' apart. They may also be toed-in slightly for better stereo imaging. The listening position should be about 1 to 1.5x the distance separating the speakers.

Reference Series: The Klipsch Reference series consists of three floorstanding speakers (R-24F/R-26F/R-28F), two bookshelf speakers (R-14M/R-15M), one center channel speaker (R-25C), and one surround speaker (R-14S). The Klipsch Reference series line-up of loudspeakers sound great in stereo and home theater applications.

Optional Powered Sub: For bigger & deeper bass response, pair the R-26F floorstanding speaker with one of Klipsch's powered subwoofers (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).

How well it performs when connected to Yamaha RX-V581 AVR? Can the AVR drive these speakers
sriram  May 17, 2018

A
Anything pushing 50 watts or more can drive these speakers. You're not going to max out on volume unless you're at a concert hall. But check out the Rf-28's for the same price since you're shopping around.

I have been using the AVR and R-26F for over a year now. Bluray movies, streaming music, Bluetooth... all sources and formats are utilized by my family. Sound has always been full, clear, and very clean no matter the listening volume. Very happy with both products.

Q
I have a pioneer receiver that 6-8 ohms compatible, is there any way to see that these speakers run at 6 ohms instead if at so as to give it 140 rms instead of 90 rms?
joseph  Jul 29, 2017

A
No way of lowering it to 6 ohms, they are 8 ohms all day, all night
ceciliana  Aug 02, 2017
A
No. They are 8-Ohm nominal. That means they are safe for receivers rated at 8 ohms. Speakers Ohm's change depending on frequency. You may get an actual 5-1/2 to 80ohms. These sound great with 100 watts. They are very sensitive 98Db

Q
If this klipsch reference R-26F is 100 watts rms (400watts peak ) then does it mean that i can only pair this speaker with an audio/ video reciever range from a minimum of 20 watts to a maximum of 100 watts only? If above 100 watts then the speaker and amp will be damage?
jane  Jan 29, 2017

A
No damage - these speakers can really "SPEAK VOLUMES" - you'll be fine - you can really crank them up - wonderful sound!
patricia  Jan 30, 2017
A
All I can tell you is that my R-26F is pair up Audio/video receiver, Turn table, and compact cassette deck it works well and give great sound. Hope that information help you.
genevieve  Jan 30, 2017
A
No. That's not what that means. RMS is a preferred max setting. You can push the speakers with a 120 watt/ch amp, heck...even one that's 150 watts/ch. You just won't be able to turn it up to max volume is all. I have 2 of these pushed by 120 w Onkyo receiver, volume never gets over 42 on a movie or 35 on music. . Thats loud enough for me, I assume the volume knob goes to 80 or even 100. You would never run speakers at max volume anyway, so you'll be fine.
