Overview: The Sensaphone Temp Alert is a wall mount, mechanical
temperature sensor used to detect if air temperature is too high or too low when
connected to your Sensaphone monitoring system. The Sensaphone TA-1 Temp Alert
has been designed for reliable monitoring of areas where high and low
temperature limits are critical. Temp Alert measures temperatures from -30° to
130° F. You can set the temperature limits by selecting a high and low
temperature setting and the Temp Alert will dial-out to your Sensaphone
monitoring unit when the temperature reaches those limits. Alarm limits are
adjustable from -30° to 130° F. The sensor will work with all Sensaphone
products and many other alarm systems, telephone dialers, or remote warning devices.
Installation: The Sensaphone Temp Alert TA-1 should be mounted on a
wall or other vertical surface in the area where temperature is to be monitored.
Make sure it is clear of windows, doors, or heat source that could cause an
inaccurate reading of air temperature. Connect the Temp Alert unit to your
Sensaphone warning device by attaching an 18 gauge to 24 gauge single pair cable
from the Temp Alert's front mounted terminals to an open zone on any alarm
panel, telephone dialer, or wireless transmitter. More than one Temp Alert may
be used on a single input of your Sensaphone monitoring system or other warning
system. This is done by wiring the sensors in parallel. The Temp Alert does not
come with wire for connection to your Sensaphone monitoring unit.
Note: When protecting a building against freeze damage,
always install at least on Temp Alert on every level of the building. Do not use the TA-1 Temp Alert in a cooler or freezer. Frost
build-up and moisture can cause the unit to malfunction.
