Get stunning sound from this compact, high-performance DAC/amp combo
When your entire music collection resides on your iPod® or your laptop computer, and your radio comes from the Internet, a traditional A/V receiver makes little sense. You no longer need a big, heavy box with a full array of analog audio inputs.
All you need is what you get with the Wadia 151 PowerDAC Mini: An audiophile-grade amplifier, a high-end digital-to-analog converter, and a few digital audio inputs (including USB) in a small, lightweight box.
Stacks with Wadia's acclaimed iPod® dock
Add Wadia's matching 170iTransport iPod dock and a pair of good bookshelf speakers, and you've got a great-sounding audio system that's at home in your office, den, bedroom, or kitchen.
For compatibility with ultra-high resolution music files, the USB input accepts 24 bit/96 KHz data, and the other inputs accept 24 bit/192 KHz data. All input signals are upsampled to 24 bit/384 KHz to create a more spacious and natural musical presentation.

Features
Overview: The Wadia 151PowerDAC mini is an all-in-one digital amplifier solution. The Wadia 151PowerDAC combines a high-performance DAC, robust amplifier, and variety of digital inputs.
Aluminum Chassis: The Wadia 151PowerDAC mini features an aluminum chassis with a small, lightweight footprint.
LED Display: The Wadia 151PowerDAC mini is equipped with a front-panel LED blue-backlit display and discrete control buttons (input, phase, mute, volume +/-).
Integrated DAC: All audio signals fed into the Wadia 15PowerDAC mini are processed exclusively in the digital domain throughout the entire signal path from input to speaker outputs.
24-bit/384kHz Upsampling: The unit's digital inputs are directly fed into a powerful digital signal processor (DSP). The toslink and coax digital inputs, can accept up to a 24-bit/192kHz input data rate (USB: 24-bit/96kHz). Once the data enters the system, Wadia's data sampling technology uses a spline interpolation algorithm to up-sample all incoming data to 24 bit/ 384kHz for high performance conversion. The algorithm reduces interpolation error and creates highly accurate representations of the original performance.
DirectConnect Digital VolumeControl: The high resolution digital audio signal is modulated into Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) output using a proprietary digital algorithm. Up-sampled and filtered data is sent to the digital amplifier stage and managed by the DirectConnect digital volume control. This allows the data to still remain in the digital domain while additional current is applied to the signal in a manner that optimizes transient response and minimizes distortion.
50-Watt Amplifier: The high-resolution digital audio signal is amplified and delivered to your connected loudspeakers by a conservatively rated 50-watt x 2-channel @ 4-ohm (or 25-watt x 2-channl @ 8-ohm) digital amplifier.
4 Digital Inputs: Four selectable digital inputs including USB (type-B), Toslink, and (2) coax S/PDIF, allow you to connect your computer, game system, iPod dock (such as the Wadia 170iTransport), and other streaming audio sources.
5-Way Binding Posts: The Wadia 151PowerDAC mini features two pair of 5-way insulated gold-plated binding posts.
Remote Control: The Wadia 151PowerDAC mini includes an aluminum full-function IR remote control for wireless operation of the unit. The remote operates off of two "AAA" batteries (included).

Sounds great. It is a little underpowered for an amp. You need to have fairly efficient speakers or just not play very loud. Otherwise, truely excelent DAC! Power is on the back and can not be switched on and off from the remote. I hooked this
