Overview: The Kodak Theatre HD Player allows you to use your HDTV to
wirelessly view pictures and videos, and listen to music stored on your PC. You
can also view videos you find on the Internet as well. The built-in memory card
slot lets you instantly view photos and videos you just recorded. The Theatre HD
Player is controlled by the unique "pointer" remote control.
Remote Control: The supplied wireless "pointer" remote control uses
radio frequencies (RF) instead of infrared (IR) technology, so it is not
necessary to point it at the TV or Theatre HD Player. The remote operates using
small side-to-side and up-and-down wrist movements, as well as the scroll wheel
and three buttons (Select, Back, and Hide Cursor).
Main Portals: Once you have installed the Theatre HD software, there
are several portals for accessing the content on your computer or the Internet:
- Home Screen: For accessing the various portals (below), and
notification of new Picture Mails and Picture Chronicles slide shows
- Pictures & Videos Portal: For viewing your picture and video
collections and online pictures
- Music Portal: For viewing and listening to your music collection
- Kodak Gallery Portal: For viewing your albums on the online Kodak
Gallery
- Entertainment Portal: For viewing or listening to local and
Internet content
- Settings Portal: Player settings you can change at any time
Special Features: The Theatre HD Player gives you access to the
following features:
- YouTube on TV: You can watch your favorite videos on YouTube
from your HDTV. You can select from Most Popular, Most Viewed, Featured, and
Related Videos, and search all videos by keyword or author. With a personal
YouTube account, you can view subscriptions, save favorites, and give
ratings.
- Net Video: Net Video gives you access to hundreds of the latest
free on-demand video feeds on the Internet, including news, sports,
entertainment, lifestyle, comedy, family, and nature. Net Video also lets
you listen to Internet Radio, Podcasts, and play online games.
- Discovery Collage: This feature helps you sort through the
hundreds or thousands of pictures you have stored on your PC, and display
them in a dynamic collage view. Photos can be sorted by time of year
(holidays, birthdays) and gathers a collection of pictures related to that
occasion. The Random collage can give you a random view of your entire
collection.
- Café: You can customize your home screen to include local
weather, sports, news, RSS feeds, traffic, and Picture Chronicles from your
photo collection. Elsewhere on the screen, national and world headlines
scroll continuously to keep you up-to-date.
- Picture Mail: You can insert your memory card into the Theatre HD
Player, and automatically start watching a slide show. Using the Picture
Mail feature, you can send your pictures to family and friends wherever they
are. You can also view pictures sent to you from others. The pictures from
your memory card or from Picture Mail can be downloaded to your computer
wirelessly.
Network: The Theatre HD Player can be connected to your wired or
wireless network. The player is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi standards,
and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet protocol. It is also compatible with HomePlug with a
powerline Ethernet adapter.
Note: Video Streaming requires 802.11g or 802.11n wireless or 100
Base-T Ethernet. HD Video Streaming requires 802.11n.
Network Security: The following Wi-Fi security protocols are
supported: WPA PSK AES, WPA2 PSK AES, WPA PSK TKIP, WEP.
HDTV Capability: The unit can output 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and
1080p via HDMI or Component Video. It can output analog RCA stereo audio, as
well as digital audio via coaxial and optical outputs.
