Product Research
Features
Overview: The SoundCast SubCast Wireless Kit is a combination of a wireless transmitter and wireless receiver with internal antennas to broadcast the audio signal of one audio component in one room to a speaker system in another room via a wireless link (up to 150-feet).
Note: To complete the SoundCast SubCast system, you will need an external audio source and a speaker system.
FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) Technology: The SubCast Wireless Kit is an interference free, wireless 2.4 GHz universal audio system. The SubCast Wireless Kit uses frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology in which the included transmitter constantly and automatically searches for open channels in the 2.4GHz band and jumps to them to avoid interference with other products (such as cordless telephones, radio controlled toys, cell phones, microwave ovens, remotes, and wireless routers), while telling the system's receiver which frequency to use, and ultimately send your connected source's audio signal wirelessly to the SubCast receiver and your speaker system.
Wireless Range: The SubCast Wireless Kit has a range of 150' between the included transmitter and receiver. Outdoors, the signal may carry up to 350' depending on conditions.
Note: The SubCast is not weather-resistant and not designed to be placed outdoors.
Wireless Subwoofer Kit Application: The SubCast Wireless Kit can be used to wirelessly transmit the LFE signal of your home theater receiver to your powered subwoofer. This allows you to place your powered subwoofer anywhere in the listening area without running wires across the floor.
Note: The SubCast Wireless Kit does not contain crossover adjustments. You will need to adjust the crossover on your home theater receiver and/or powered subwoofer.
Audio Connections: The SubCast transmitter is equipped with a stereo RCA and stereo minijack connection for connecting your audio source. The SubCast receiver is equipped with a stereo RCA output for connection to your speaker system or powered subwoofer.
Sensitivity Selector: The SubCast Wireless Kit has been set at the factory for the output voltage of most common component devices. However, should you find the signal received by the receiver and your connected speaker system is much lower in volume, there is a sensitivity switch on the bottom of the unit to adjust the unit's overall gain.
Room Selector Switch: The SubCast Wireless Kit has a multi-room and same-room selector switch on the bottom of the transmitter. This will maximize the performance when you are transmitting music in the same room, or from one room to another room in your house.
Multi-Room Compatible: The included SubCast transmitter can operate up to two SubCast receivers. This means you can transmit audio to two different locations in your home by purchasing an additional SubCast receiver. You can also connect two SubCast transmitters to the same audio source using the output of one transmitter linked to the input of another transmitter. By linking the two transmitters, and by using two SubCast receivers for each one, you can create a four zone audio system (the same music source will be heard in all areas and you can only link a maximum of two transmitters). It is also possible to operate two entirely different SubCast systems in the same house.
Note: You will need to make sure the SubCast system's channel selector switches are set to the same channel (1-3).
Power Supply: The SubCast transmitter operates off of USB or AC power. The USB circuit in your computer will provide power for the transmitter. You can also plug the transmitter into an AC wall outlet. The SubCast receiver only operates off of AC power.
