Wi-Fi control

The PRX818XLFW gives you complete wireless control over the bass via Wi-Fi. The free PRX Connect app allows you to adjust your speakers from anywhere in the venue with your iOS or Android device, including control over gain, EQ, and speaker delay. The app also allows you to configure shows offline and save presets.

Speaker protection by dbx

A built-in dynamic limiter by dbx ensures that an unexpected overload won't damage the speaker. The PRX818XLFW also offers a fully featured input section, providing user-selectable crossover settings, speaker protection, and simple component optimization. Direct outputs allow you to integrate your PRX818XLFW into larger systems with no need for extra Y-cords or a mixer.

Rugged enclosure

The PRX818XLFW is built to last, featuring a tough poplar plywood enclosure that's stackable. JBL's patented DuraFlex coating ensures that the cabinet will resist the inevitable bumps and drops encountered on the road. The pole mount socket allows you to mount speakers above the sub for better coverage.

Powered Sub: The JBL PRX818XLFW is a high performance self-powered subwoofer system with remote Wi-Fi control of onboard DSP EQ parameters. The PRX818XLFW is comprised of a powerful Differential Drive dual voice-coil and magnetic gap, 18" woofer driven by a 1500 Watt (Peak) Class-D power amplifier. Sophisticated DSP is at the core of a fully featured input section, providing user selectable cross-over functionality, polarity optimization, protection, dynamic limiting and discrete component optimization.

Rugged Built Cabinet: The PRX818XLFW's cabinet is built from a combination of 25mm (on the top and bottom for added rigidity) and 18mm, strong, light-weight poplar plywood made structurally sound with tongue and groove joints. All PRX800 Series cabinets are protected by JBL's tour proven DuraFlex finish. Grilles are made from dent-resistant 16 gauge steel and handles are made from light-weight glass-filled nylon for added strength and durability.

XLR & 1/4" Connectivity: Two combo-connector (Channel 1/2) accept input signal from XLR and 1/4" line-level sources. Two XLR outputs provide either a loop-thru or a high-passed, line-level output of the signal input from Channel 1 and 2. An 80Hz selectable crossover ensures a smooth transition to full-range system connected to the stereo outputs.

PRX Connect App (for Apple iOS): The JBL PRX818X even offers remote Wi-Fi control of onboard DSP EQ parameters through its PRX Connect App for Apple iOS 7.0+ device. The PRX Connect App lets you walk around the venue with your Apple iOS device during sound check, so you can fine-tune yours speakers & sub to sound better as a system. Use the 8-band EQ, speaker delay, mute, gain and more to make sure your audience hears great sound from every corner of the room. You can even configure different settings for different venues and save them as presets.

Polarity Switch & LED Indicators: Normal or reverse polarity can be switched for matching to varied sub/satellite system configurations. Signal present and limiter lights indicate the system status and assist in setting the optimum level via the level control knob.

Mounting Options: The JBL PRX818XLFW is designed to placed on the floor. A pole receptacle on the top-panel of the powered sub accepts JBL's SS4-BK or SS4-BK24 pole mount (sold separately).

Hello I have 2 JBL PRX 425 as my mains (passive) and I really like the JBL PRX818XLFW (active) the question I have is, do you have a diagram of how to add an active sub to a passive system? Other sound equipment is QSC 3402 amp and Allen & Heath ZED 12FX mixer. Thank you

The main left & right outs of the mixer will connect to the two XLR inputs on the powered sub, and the THRU outputs on the sub will connect to the inputs of the QSC amp.
