About the Boston Acoustics CS Sub10
This subwoofer helps transport you to the middle of a high-speed chase in a film or to a stadium seat at a thunderous concert. Boston's CS Sub10 uses a 100-watt amplifier to supply powerful, precise low frequencies with your movies and music. The 10" woofer delivers dynamic bass to give your system's sound a firm foundation. And Boston's exclusive signal-monitoring circuitry keeps audible distortion at bay, so the sound is clean and crisp.
Build a complete Classic Series speaker system with this sub, floor-standing front speakers, bookshelf speakers or satellite surround speakers, and a center channel speaker for high-impact home theater sound.

Features
BASSTRAC: The CS Sub 10's amplifier features BassTrac circuitry, a proprietary Boston Acoustics-designed technology which tracks the subwoofer's input signal and prevents the amplifier from being driven into audible distortion. Unlike conventional designs, BassTrac does not merely remove the signal peaks that cause distortion, instead it preserves the waveform's shape so the fidelity of the signal is maintained. Even the heaviest bass passages in movies or audio tracks will sound solid, rich, and full, without unwanted artifacts.
DCD (Deep Channel Design): The 10-inch driver used in the CS Sub 10 utilizes Boston Acoustics' DCD design. DCD is a deeply grooved pole plate that enables the voice coil to travel farther for greater output without bottoming out.
Down Firing: Since the CS Sub 10 is downward firing; the enclosure sits on four feet about 1 1/4" above the floor.
Auto-On Circuit: The CS Sub 10 has an Auto-On Circuit which can automatically turn the amplifier on when an audio signal is detected. It will automatically turn off after several minutes with no signal.
Controls
Volume Control: The rotary volume control is located on the rear of the subwoofer; use the volume control to balance the sub output with the other speakers in your audio system.
Phase Switch: The subwoofer's phase switch allows you to select 0° or 180°. If the bass sounds weak, muddy, or unclear toggling the phase control may strengthen the bass attack.
Crossover: The CS Sub 10 has a built-in 24dB/octave low-pass crossover, continuously variable from 40 Hz to 180 Hz. This adjusts the upper end of the sub's frequency range. The crossover is bypassed when the LFE input is used.
Connections
Line Level Inputs: The CS Sub 10 has three gold-plated RCA line level inputs, a stereo input and a mono LFE (Low Frequency Effects) channel input. The LFE output from a receiver is already crossed over so the sub's crossover is bypassed. When the stereo inputs are used the signal is routed to the CS Sub 10's crossover.
