About the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW12R
Kenwood Excelon calls the KFC-WX12R a "super woofer" and it's easy to see why this bass titan packs a powerful punch that'll bring out the hard-hitting intensity of all your favorite music. Kenwood starts with a two-piece die-cast aluminum basket to give the sub a solid foundation, then adds a carbon-glass fiber cone with a honeycomb design that keeps it rigid and responsive. A beefed-up rubber surround works with the spider to maintain tight control over the cone, minimizing distortion caused by resonance.
Major power handling
The KFC-XW12R 12" sub handles up to 700 watts RMS, so you can work it hard without hesitation. It features dual 3-ohm voice coils that offer flexibility when setting up your system, plus smart switching terminals which let you move between wiring configurations with ease. The built-in overload fuse protection system keeps the sub from suffering a harmful electrical blowup. Give this sub a good home in a sealed or ported enclosure, and you'll get the kind of bass performance you've always wanted.
Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible.

Carbon-Glass Fiber Cone: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer uses a carbon-glass fiber honeycomb cone which allows the woofer to be efficient and durable at the same time.
Rubber Surround: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer features a smooth linear rubber surround for added durability and increased excursion resulting in exceptional deep bass response.
Super Linear Spider: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer utilizes a super linear spider for maximum control over the woofer's linear motion to improve overall sound quality.
Heat Transfer System: The Kenwood eXcelon woofer features an advanced Heat Transfer System designed specifically for the woofer to provide proper ventilation to keep the woofer cool.
Easy Smart Switching DVC Terminals: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer features dual 3-ohm voice coils that offer flexibility in wiring. Each voice-coil features a pair of gold-plated binding posts that will accept up to 8-AWG speaker wire. When the subwoofer's dual speaker terminals are wired in parallel with each other (using the supplied jumper), the woofer presents a 1.5-ohm mono load. When the dual speaker terminals are wired in series with each other (remove the jumper), the woofer presents an 6-ohm mono load. In addition, each speaker terminal may be connected to a different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 3-ohm load.
Note: The woofer's two inserted fuses will need to be configured for either Parallel (default), Series, or Bi-amp connection; using the woofer's integrated connection switch.
Overload Fuse Protection System: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer features an Overload Fuse Protection System to protect the subwoofer from being over driven. The subwoofer features two 5-amp ATC fuses that will blow if over driven, before you blow the woofer.
Aluminum-Cast Basket: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer is housed in a 2-piece aluminum die-cast basket for increased rigidity and long-lasting reliability.
Concealing Ring: The Kenwood eXcelon subwoofer comes supplied with a removable, rubber concealing ring used to hide the woofer's mounting screws for a neat and professional looking installation. The concealing ring increases the top mounting height to 0.375".
