About the Arcam Solo irDock
A high performance dock for finely detailed music
A high performance dock for finely detailed music
Rest assured, this is no ordinary iPod/iPhone dock. Arcam brought 35 years of crafting fine audio equipment to the creation of their Solo irDock. This carefully designed dock ensures that the signal being passed from your player's pin connection is as accurate and noise-free as possible. You'll hear the difference in the detail and presence of your music especially if you're playing it back through one of Arcam's excellent stereo receivers.
Quality materials make the difference
The irDock features a cast aluminum casing. In addition to providing rock-solid stability, it also shields the dock's electronics from RF interference, ensuring that the audio signal remains as clean as possible. Arcam provides the irDock with a low-noise power supply to ward off potential radiated noise.
A charging on/off button sits on the front of the irDock. While the dock can automatically charge your player, there is an advantage to using your iPod's battery to power playback. It can further minimize electrical noise, which improves the signal just a little bit more. With a high-performance playback system, this can make an audible difference in the sound.
An ideal partner for your Arcam components
The irDock uses standard line-level analog outputs, so you can enjoy great iPod sound with just about any home audio system. But couple the irDock with a Solo Mini or Solo Neo stereo receiver, and you've got a match made in audiophile heaven. The irDock not only sends pristine audio ignals to the receiver, but data as well through an included RS-232 cable. You'll see song title and artist appear on the your Arcam component's display. And you can conveniently control your docked player through your Arcam component's remote. (A compact remote is provided for use with other brands of audio gear.)

The irDock uses audiophile grade components and design techniques to deliver the best possible sound quality. An IR remote is included for wireless operation of your docked iPod/iPhone.
Aluminum Chassis: The Arcam irDock is built from a high-quality cast aluminum enclosure for optimum RF shielding.
iPod Dock Connector: The Arcam irDock features an integrated top-panel iPod dock to connect your compatible iPod or iPhone. The irDock supports audio playback, video output, remote control, and charging of your docked iPod/iPhone.
