About the Russound SLM-1K

Kramer Crane

Russound's SLM-1K infrared repeater kit gives you easy remote control of your home theater receiver and other A/V gear placed in an enclosed cabinet, where your regular IR remote's signals can't reach. Setup is a breeze. The low-profile IR sensor gets mounted on your TV's bezel or stand within line of sight of your remotes. The sensor receives your remote's commands and relays them back to an IR hub hidden away inside the cabinet. The hub in turn sends the commands to the infrared emitters, which you place in front of your components. Use any of your existing remote controls or a universal one to control your equipment.

Product highlights:

  • complete IR repeater system with IR receiver, repeater hub, and four IR emitters
  • use your existing remotes to control equipment hidden in a closed cabinet
  • the slim IR receiver mounts seamlessly to modern TV bezels
  • control up to four audio/video components
  • plug-and-play simplicity with easy-to-use color-coded connectors

Features

Universal Surface Mount IR Kit: The Russound Universal Surface Mount IR Kit (SLM-1K) consists of an infrared connecting block, 7' IR receiver, four 10' IR emitters, AC power adapter, and mounting hardware. This universal surface mount kit contains all the necessary components to control up to four devices that are out of sight and inside a cabinet, while maintaining a clean, seamless installation and appearance.

IR (Infrared) Replication: The Russound Universal Surface Mount IR Kit effectively replicates infrared signals from remote controls to reach your components stored remotely or hidden in enclosed cabinets.

  • Receive Frequency: 36kHz to 58kHz
  • Transmit Frequency: 40kHz and 56kHz

Light Filtering: The Russound Universal Surface Mount IR Kit (SLM-1K) works with LED, LCD and Plasma TV's and is resistant to fluorescent and compact fluorescent (CFL) interference for reliable operation.

Infrared Connecting Block: The included infrared connecting block features an IR receiver input and four IR emitter outputs. The IR receiver input & emitter outputs consist of 3.5mm minijack terminals. The hub of an IR repeater system, it receives signals from remotely located infrared receivers and channels them to your source components and other equipment. The compact infrared connecting block can be mounted in a discreet location on top of furniture or next to a TV to replicate infrared signals from your IR remote controls; mounting hardware is included.

IR Receiver: The Russound Universal Surface Mount IR Kit includes one IR receiver which features a 7' cable and terminated by a male 3.5mm connector that plugs into the kit's infrared connecting block. The compact surface-mount IR receiver can be located almost anywhere and unobtrusively, allowing placement where you need it. With wideband sensitivity and wide-angle reception, the IR receiver reliably accepts commands from most IR remote controls. It also provides excellent rejection of interference form IR sources like LCD, LED or Plasma TVs and Fluorescent and compact fluorescent lights.

Four IR Emitters: The Russound Universal Surface Mount IR Kit includes four IR emitters which feature a 10' cable and terminated by a male 3.5mm connector that plug into the kit's infrared connecting block. Each IR emitter transfers infrared commands to a single audio-video component or other device. The IR emitters should be securely attached directly over your components' IR receptors (3M tape included). The emitters include IR blocking covers to prevent unwanted signals.

Power Requirements: The infrared connecting block operates off of standard household current using the supplied AC power adapter with 6' DC cord.

  • Input: 120-240V~50/60Hz
  • Output: 12V DC, 5000mA

Dimensions:

  • Infrared Connecting Block: 3.9375" (w) x 0.875" (h) x 2.6875" (d)
