Built for life on the water
Built from the ground up for the marine environment, this rugged sub sports a corrosion-resistant Centrex® polymer basket that surrounds the sub's internal structure for extra protection. The marine-grade synthetic fiber spider, injection-molded polypropylene cone, and synthetic rubber surround provide top performance, while shrugging off the corrosive effects of sun, salt, and moisture. The UV-resistant polymer basket encases and protects the entire structure, and the grilles are treated, too, so they'll still look factory-fresh after years of sun exposure.
Designed for a variety of enclosures
The subwoofer's motor structure allows extended cone movement, so you'll hear bass that's loud and low, yet precise and smooth. The versatile MX10IB3-SG-TLD-B works in sealed enclosures, but it also works well in free-air applications, so you can mount it directly into a bulkhead if there's no space for a box.

Features
Marine Tested: JL Audio's marine subwoofers go through ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure) and salt fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments) and are built to withstand the rigors of marine use.
LED Lighting: An LED lighting assembly is integrated into each Sport Grille's frame, to uniformly illuminate the woofer's cone with a blue glow. A 12 volt power supply is needed to turn the LEDs on.
Woofer: The subwoofer features an injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene cone woofer with a synthetic rubber surround specifically formulated for marine use.
DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis): JL Audio's proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) technology results in ultra-linear motor force over a long range of excursion and a wide range of power inputs to reduce distortion and improve sound quality.
Infinite-Baffle Operation: The M10IB3 is optimized for infinite-baffle operation so that it can be installed in a variety of locations, without the need for a dedicated enclosure.
Polymer Basket And Grille: The polymer basket and grille are corrosion and UV-resistant, and the basket encapsulates the motor assembly to prevent corrosion.
Mounting Hardware: Marine-grade stainless-steel mounting screws and washers are included.
Box Type: If mounting in an enclosure, JL Audio recommends a 2.5 ft³ sealed box (2.0 ft³ minimum). The M10IB3 should not be mounted in a ported enclosure.
Grille: Because the LEDs are attached to the grille, and their wiring is attached to the woofer frame, the grille should not be removed from the woofer.
