For a clean installation

PAC gives you six feet of cable so you can route it through even the trickiest of dashes. The cable's female USB end provides a flush-mount design for permanent installation — simply drill a hole into the spot where you'd like to connect your USB devices, and snap in the end of the cable for a factory look. If you'd rather not drill a hole, just snap that end of the cable into the included mounting bracket, then place the bracket in a good place for quick access to your USB devices. Warranty: 1 year.

Features

USB Dash-Mount Cable: The PAC 6' USB Dash-Mount Cable (part # USBDMA6) connects to the rear-panel USB port on the back of your in-dash head unit and provides a convenient connection for your USB memory device.

Note: Fully compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, but should not be used in conjunction with another USB extension cable if you are planning to use CarPlay or Android Auto. The PAC USBDMA6 should be plugged directly into the rear-panel USB port of your receiver (it will replace the USB extension that comes with your receiver; not designed to be used in conjunction with it).

USB Connectors: The 6' USB extension cable features one male USB (type-A) connector and one female USB (type-A) port.

  • Male USB (type-A) Connector: The USB extension cable's male USB (type-A) connector plugs into the rear-panel USB (type-A) port of your aftermarket head unit.
  • Female USB (type-A) Port: The USB extension cable's female USB (type-A) port lets you connect your USB flash memory device.

Mounting Options: The PAC 6' USB Extension Cable with Mounting Bracket offers two mounting options.

  • Flush Mount: The female USB (type-A) port of the USB extension cable features a flush mountable design. You can simply drill a 3/4" hole at the desired mounting location and snap the end of the USB extension cable in for a factory OEM look.
  • Mounting Bracket: The USB extension cables also features a mounting bracket that can be used to mount the USB connector without drilling a 3/4" hole in the vehicle. Just snap the USB extension cable into the bracket and mount it wherever your installation demands. The bracket secures into place with four screws (included).

Q
Is this compatible with Android Auto ??
[ Bruce  Oct 15, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
Yes, in fact it was recommended to me by Crutchfield along with my Sony Android Auto-equipped head unit. I too, recommend it for the following reasons: Unlike a USB extension where the plug-in outlet dangles or moves around, this offers a more permanent, built-in appearance. The included mount is generally used for an under-dash or stand-alone installation. I didn't use it however. I drilled a hole in the plastic area in the console under the heater controls (Chevy Suburban) and the plug snapped in. Looks like factory. My Android conveniently plugs in to the port (necessary to run Android Auto) and it sits in the center console 'bin', out of the way. The gauge of the cord more than meets the requirements of the head unit for data transmission and proper communication between the head unit and the Android. This is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and works well when an iPhone is plugged into a CarPlay-equipped head unit.

Q
Will this fit in a hole where a cigarette lighter is removed with out any extra hardware?
[ Carl  Aug 24, 2018 ]

A
That one is too small for the cigarette lighter hole. I also ordered accelerated USBRHDMI cable and it fit the Cigarette lighter hole perfectly after all of the lighter casing is removed. $ 29.99. It is a USB/HDMI with separate connectors into the back of the radio. The Crutchfield item number is 074USBHDMI Hope this helps!
[ Charles  Aug 30, 2018 ]
A
I installed mine on a 2007 tundra and while it holds static, it'll pop out when I pull on the usb charging cable. Nothing a little super glue can't fix, but mine didn't hold on it's own.
[ Jeremiah  Aug 30, 2018 ]
Q
Why doesn't this work with the xav-ax100 (android auto)? Does this not support usb 2.0 or is it just for power?
[ Cliff  Dec 27, 2017 ]

A
First I use Apple play and it works fine, looking at the sony site, they give full support on this device to Android Auto, the only help I can give is to have you check this web site: OK, I can not link to other sites but try to google support androidauto answer This web site is "Set up your Android Auto app" it should have the details you need Mike
