You can also bridge Channels 1-4 to 2-channel mode, and send 130 watts each to a set of high-performance speakers, while still powering a sub. The SG-DA51600's aluminum alloy chassis acts as a heat sink, dissipating heat and increasing efficiency.

A great-looking amp

The stylish stainless steel front panel resists corrosion, plus it adds an undeniable touch of style to your installation. You can tune this versatile amplifier for almost any job with the separate high- and low-pass crossovers on Channels 1-4, along with a low-pass filter and variable bass boost on the sub channel. Bring the excitement of your favorite music on your next voyage.

Built to last

A conformal-coated circuit board and water-resistant design ensure that this marine-rated amp will stand up to conditions that turn lesser electronics into ballast. As part of Fusion's True Marine line, the SG-DA51600 is backed by a 3-year warranty.

Product Research

Features

Marine Amplifier: The Fusion SG-DA51600 is a five-channel marine amplifier from the Signature Series. It has a conformal-coated PCB circuit board protects it against the harsh marine environment. The amp's removable stainless steel top cover protects the control panel and the connection panel on the side. Its one-piece die-cast heat sink helps to dissipate heat from the internal components to provide greater reliability and longer sustained power output.

Class-D Amplifier Technology: The SG-DA51600 features a Class-D design to give you higher output and greater efficiency. It can power two pairs of full range speakers, plus a subwoofer. You can also bridge four channels to two and power three subwoofers. The power output specifications of the amp are as follows (at 14.4 volts input power):

  • 80 watts RMS x 4 channels + 250 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4Ω
  • 130 watts RMS x 4 channels + 330 watts RMS x 1 channel at 2Ω
  • 250 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4Ω bridged + 250 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4Ω

Protection Circuitry: The SG-DA51600 is equipped with 5-way protection circuitry that will keep the amp operating safely. The circuitry protects against overheating (thermal), reversed power polarity, DC offset, over-voltage, and under-voltage conditions.

Remote Level Controller: A Remote Level Controller is included with the amplifier that allows you to independently control the level of the subwoofer from the cockpit or driver's seat. A 19.5' cable is included with the controller.

Inputs and Outputs: The Fusion SG-DA51600 amplifier has marine-grade, nickel-plated RCA inputs and outputs, as well as stainless components that improve signal flow for optimum output. The amplifier's connections include:

  • Low-Level Inputs: The amp features three pairs of stereo RCA inputs to connect your marine audio source (Zone 1, Zone 2, Sub).
  • Speaker Outputs: The amp features 10 set-screw connections for a total of 5 speakers (Zone 1 left, Zone 1 right, Zone 2 left, Zone 2 right, and subwoofer). The terminals will accept up to 12-gauge wire. A Phillips-head screwdriver (not included) is required to tighten/loosen the set screws.

Power Connections: The SG-DA51600 features nickel-plated set screw terminals for power, ground, and remote turn-on. The power (+12V) and ground (GND) terminals will accept up to 4-gauge wires, and require a Phillips-head screwdriver (not included) to tighten/loosen the set screws. The remote turn-on terminal will accept up to 8-gauge wire, and also requires a Phillips-head screwdriver. The recommended power and ground cable is 4 AWG with an 80-amp fuse on the power wire near the battery.

Controls: The Fusion SG-DA51600 provides independent controls for the Zone 1 channels,  Zone 2 channels, and the subwoofer. The controls are located on the top panel, under the removable stainless steel cover. (A 3mm Allen wrench is included to remove the cover screws.) A flat-head screwdriver (not included) is required to adjust the rotary controls. The controls include:

  • Zone 1 and Zone 2 Channels: Separate controls are provided for each:
    • Level: The rotary level control lets you match the head unit to the amplifier.
    • Crossover Frequency: The crossover is continuously variable from 32 Hz to 320 Hz.
    • Crossover Selector: This 3-way slide switch lets you select the configuration of the crossover. You can choose LP (low-pass), HP (high-pass), or Full Range.
  • Subwoofer:
    • Low Pass Frequency: The low pass filter is continuously variable from 32 Hz to 320 Hz.
    • Level: The rotary level control lets you match the head unit to the amplifier.
    • Audio Source: This switch lets you select the input source for the subwoofer. You can choose Sub if your source unit has dedicated subwoofer preamp outputs. If it does not, you can choose the Zone 1/Zone 2 inputs.
    • Bass Boost: You can increase the bass output, centered at 45 Hz, from 0 to +12dB using the rotary control.
    • Subsonic: The subsonic filter eliminates all of the sub-bass frequencies below the set frequency. This rotary control is variable from 10 Hz to 80 Hz.

Customer Q&A

Q
Can I connect a second sub in zone 2 and if so how do I control the level?
darren  Jul 20, 2023
1 answer
A
You cannot have dual zone subwoofers with the Fusion SG-DA51600 and have dual level control, Darren. The Fusion amp has a single subwoofer output channel only. Depending on your specific radio/system you may be able to use a small mono amp like the JL Audio MX300/1 in the first link below. You can split the zone 2 RCA input for signal. It is useful for zone marine subwoofers as you can add the JL Audio M-RBC-1 remote level controller in the second link for independent level control of just your zone 2 subwoofer. If you need any help designing your subwoofer upgrades, do not hesitate to call us at 1-800-924-9695 and we can hook you up with our Marine Specialists team! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698406/JL-Audio-MX300-1.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698404/JL-Audio-M-RBC-1.html

A
If you connect two 4 ohm speakers per channel, then each speaker should be able to work with 65 watts RMS.
