What music streaming technology do you use? With the Wren V5US powered speaker system, you have options. Apple® AirPlay® for your iPhone? Check. Bluetooth® for your Android tablet? Check. DTS Play-Fi® for a multi-room audio system? Check. However you want to stream high-fidelity music, the V5US can handle it — and look good doing so.
High-quality sound
The system features two high-performance 3/4" tweeters for clear highs and two 3" mid/woofers for clean midrange and bass. A port in the rear of the enclosure reinforces the low frequencies. The V5US's cabinet is made of MDF to minimize unwanted resonance. And the silicone pad on the bottom acts as a cushion to soak up cabinet vibrations.
Wren's proprietary Digital Signal Processing circuitry ensures accurate signal decoding and lifelike sound reproduction. The system is powered by a built-in 50-watt Class-D amplifier. You can count on clear, natural sound, whether you play your music at low or high volume levels.
DTS Play-Fi wireless technology
The Wren VS5US uses your home Wi-Fi® network and DTS Play-Fi technology to stream music wirelessly from your phone, tablet, or PC. The system's compatible with major music services, such as TIDAL, Spotify® Connect, Pandora®, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio. And you can also enjoy SiriusXM if you have a subscription.
Build out your multi-room audio system with additional Wren speakers or even other brands of Play-Fi speakers and components. You can have speakers in different rooms playing the same thing, or each speaker playing from a different source.
High-quality Bluetooth audio
You can stream from just about any portable device to the V5US via Bluetooth. The speaker features aptX® audio coding, an advanced form of Bluetooth that allows higher-fidelity sound with compatible devices.

Apple AirPlay
You can easily play music from your computer wirelessly on the V5US system through iTunes®. You can even stream to multiple V5USs (and other AirPlay-compatible systems) to simultaneously play your music in different locations throughout your home. With your Apple portable — iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch® — you have even more options. Stream music wirelessly directly from your device to the V5US. Through AirPlay you can select songs and playlists, and adjust the volume level of the system as well.
DTS Play-Fi wireless technology
Download the free Wren Play-Fi app to your Android smartphone or tablet and you're ready to stream high-fidelity music. With Play-Fi, you can create a simple yet flexible multi-room audio system. Stream to multiple V5US speakers from one device, filling your home with music. Family members or friends can use their own Android devices to play music through one or more of the V5USs in your home network.
The V5US is also DLNA-certified. So you can use your DLNA-compatible Android smartphone, tablet, Windows® PC, or other compatible components as part of the same network. And you're not limited to just what's loaded on your device — stream from online music services like Pandora®, Internet radio stations, your computer's music library, and more.

And of course you can stream from just about any portable device to the V5US via Bluetooth. The V5US features aptX® audio coding, an advanced form of Bluetooth that allows higher-fidelity sound with compatible Bluetooth devices. The system is backwards-compatible with earlier forms of Bluetooth, too.
Making the most of other music sources
Use the stereo minijack input to connect other portables to the system. The V5US's USB port lets you connect an Apple portable with its charging cable. Your device will automatically recharge, and you can use the system's remote to control your connected player.

High Performance Drivers & Amplifier: The Wren V5US employs two 3" long-throw drivers with 4-layer voice coils to handle big power while dissipating heat. High frequencies are rendered smooth and natural by a pair of edge-driven, wide dispersion 0.75" soft dome tweeters optimally positioned on the front baffle to create a wide, realistic soundstage. The drivers are powered by Intersil's D2 Audio DSP-controlled 25 watts x 2 channel digital amplifier. DSP optimization allows you to play your music louder with more bass and less distortion.
Bass EQ: Your V5US is equipped with a 3-position bass equalization switch to compensate for room "boundary effects" on bass output. Room boundaries can change the sound of a speaker because its bass output is either amplified or diminished depending on how near the speaker is to the room's walls, floor or ceiling.
Solid Anti-Resonance Bass Reflex Enclosure: The Wren V5US is made from real wood, with natural bamboo or rosewood finishes instead of painted plastic. Beneath the beautiful bamboo or rosewood veneer is half-inch laminated MDF board that eliminates resonance and coloration. A precisely tuned acoustic rear-firing port extends the low end of the driver to provide power bass performance. The underside of the Wren V5US is covered with a 4mm low durometer silicone pad that stabilizes the chassis and absorbs cabinet vibration. Wren's unique internal diamond-matrix grille design protects the drivers without distorting the sound.
DTS Play-Fi: DTS Play-Fi combines DTS audio and WiFi (802.11 g/n, 2.4GHz) technology to wirelessly stream high-definition "lossless" audio with no impact on sound quality. DTS Play-Fi will stream pure, bit-for-bit, lossless audio, for uncompromised quality sound; up to 16-bit/48kHz. DTS Play-Fi has a range of up to 100' from your wireless router.
DTS Play-Fi App: You will need to download the free DTS Play-Fi app onto your Apple iOS 8.0+ device, Android OS 4.0+ device, or Windows 7/8/8.1/10 PC in order to access and stream Internet Radio, select online music service, DLNA server content, and your mobile device's music library. Music is then streamed directly over your home WiFi network from the DTS Play-Fi App running on your compatible device to the Wren V5US speaker.
Supported Music Files: The Wren V5US wireless speaker system and DTS Play-Fi support music formats such as MP3, AAC, FLAC, and WAV. The system will recognize music files up to 24-bit/192kHz and wirelessly stream these files at up to 16-bit/48kHz (CD quality sound). Some down-sampling may occur to ensure virtually lossless distribution throughout a home network.
Multiroom Configuration: Add more Wren V5US speakers and/or other DTS Play-Fi enabled speakers to hear music throughout your home or office with perfect synchronization (up to 8 DTS Play-Fi devices can be combined in one multiroom system). Choose a single speaker in one room, group speakers together in zones, or link all your speakers together for a whole-home listening experience. You can stream the same audio or different audio to each speaker, group, or whole-house. You can also control the volume of each DTS Play-Fi speaker independently, control the volume of a group of speakers, or use a master volume control to set the level throughout the house. All of this can be done from the DTS Play-Fi app installed on your Apple iOS device, Android smartphone/tablet, or Windows PC.

Side-Panel & Remote Control: The Wren V5US includes side-panel controls and includes an IR remote. The Wren V5BT provides easy-to-use power, volume, and source buttons on the side-panel of the system. Music navigation and song/artist information will need to be done through your Apple iOS device, Android smartphone/tablet, or Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.

Variety Of Sources
Internet Radio & Online Music Services: From the DTS Play-Fi app on your mobile device or Windows PC, you can share and listen to Pandora, SiriusXM, TIDAL, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Napster, and Internet Radio. While the DTS Play-Fi app is free, not all the online music services are (subscription & purchasing fees may apply).
Spotify Connect: The integration of Spotify Connect with DTS Play-Fi technology will enable Spotify Premium users to instantly see, select and stream to the Wren V5US speaker from within the Spotify app (Apple iOS or Android). Subscribers will also be able to immediately launch and use the Spotify service from within the DTS Play-Fi app for Android or iOS. Spotify Connect will stream crystal-clear lossless audio over WiFi to the Wren V5US.
Music Libraries From Your Mobile Device: You are able to wirelessly stream stored music and music apps on your Apple iOS (8.0+) or Android (4.0+) device to the speaker system through the free DTS Play-Fi app.
DLNA Compliant: The Wren V5US wireless speaker system is DLNA compliant for playback of various music files stored on your Windows PC (7/8) or DLNA-certified NAS drives connected to your home network. MAC OSX computers and laptops require third party software to be visible on the network (Twonky, Plex, Servio etc.) as they do not support DLNA. Use the free DTS Play-Fi app on your mobile device or computer to access these music files.
AirPlay: AirPlay lets you stream your favorite songs directly from your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, or from your iTunes library on your Windows PC or Mac computer to the Wren V5US speaker system, over your home network connection. By downloading Apple's free Remote app onto your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad you don't even need to be in the same room as the components or your computer to play, pause, skip, and stop the songs in your iTunes music library. To use the AirPlay feature you need a Mac or Windows-based PC running iTunes (10.2.2 or later) connected to your wireless home network. Your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad must have iOS 4.3.3 or later installed and connected to the same wireless home network.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming (A2DP): The Wren V5US supports Bluetooth A2DP which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Windows PC/Phone, Mac computer/laptop, or other Bluetooth audio source device. You'll be able to stream stored music or music apps from your Bluetooth source device. You will continue to navigate your music and view song/artist information from your Bluetooth-enabled device.
- CSR aptX: aptX works within Bluetooth to deliver CD-quality audio over a Bluetooth wireless connection. If your Bluetooth-enabled source device is equipped with aptX, the Wren V5US will automatically detect the aptX-equipped receiving device. If your source device does not have aptX, the V5US will default to standard Bluetooth audio (SBC codec).
- Simple Pairing: A single button press pairs your Bluetooth-enabled device with the Wren V5US. The unit can be paired with up to 6 devices, but only one can be used at a time. Once paired, the Wren V5US will automatically re-connect to the last device used when in wireless range (33').
Aux Input: A 3.5mm auxiliary input lets you connect and play music from non-wireless audio sources, such as a portable CD player or MP3 player with an audio output or headphone output jack.
