Features
Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX CS-GM31L is a radio replacement interface for select 2014-2019 Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio and enables retention of specific factory features (such as steering wheel controls) when replacing a factory installed radio in select GM vehicles.
Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX CS-GM31L radio replacement interface works with the following 2014-2019 Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs.
Make | Model | Year |
---|---|---|
Chevrolet | Colorado | 2015-2018 |
Silverado | 2014-2019 | |
Silverado HD | 2015-2019 | |
Suburban LS | 2015-2019 | |
Tahoe LS | 2015-2019 | |
GMC | Canyon | 2015-2018 |
Sierra | 2014-2018 | |
Sierra HD | 2015-2019 | |
Sierra Limited | 2019 |
Steering Wheel Controls: The CRUX CS-GM31L also features a steering wheel control output for Alpine, Blaupunkt, Boss, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, and Soundstream aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is outfitted with). The CS-GM31L interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).
Backup Camera w/ Reverse Gear Output: The CS-GM31L allows you to retain your GM vehicle's backup camera through the included backup camera harness with male composite video connector. Your in-dash aftermarket stereo must have a composite video camera input and a built-in video monitor. The radio replacement interface module also provides a Reverse Gear output for automatic rearview switching with your aftermarket receiver.
Note: The factory backup camera is only retained in vehicles with the RPO code IO3 factory radio. Otherwise, the factory backup camera will no longer function.
Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.): The ignition power source of most GM vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened; this feature is lost when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit without the proper installation accessories. The GS-GM31L is designed to retain the R.A.P. feature and keep the radio powered after the key is off, until the driver door is opened or the OEM timer ends; whichever happens first.
Warning Chimes: The Crux CS-GM31L retains factory warning & safety chimes through the use of an on-board speaker (however, park assist chime is not retained). The volume of the chime speaker is adjustable through a potentiometer on the interface module.
+12V Accessory Output: In many GM vehicles, there is no 12-volt accessory wire in the factory harness, which requires the installer to run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The CS-GM31L is designed to provide a 12V/5A switched accessory output (red wire).

This interface worked perfect, pretty straight forward on the connections. Everything on my truck worked fine. From the chime, back up camera and steering wheel controls. I recommend soldering all your loose wired connections!
