Features
Overview: The Vais Technology AL6-K01 lets you add fiber optic-based lighting to your vehicle interior. The ambient lighting system can be triggered by the vehicle illumination circuit and/or the dome light circuit. Lighting color and brightness can be controlled from your Bluetooth-connected smartphone using the LitLED app available for Apple and Android devices.
Fiber Optic Lighting: The AL6-K01 includes a control module (ECU) with six attached 39" fiber optic light cables. The lights are arranged with three outputs for the Rear Zone and three for the Front Zone, letting you apply separate lighting control to each area of your vehicle. Each light includes an Output Lens and a Mouting Bezel for a discreet, professional look. The lights are small enough to be strategically installed in various places throughout your vehicle, but a typical installation layout would include:
- Two lights in the front footwells
- One light in the center console
- One light in the cup holder area
- Two lights in the rear foot wells
Notes:
- Installation requires drilling mounting holes in your vehicle's interior panels.
- Fiber optic light cables are fragile and should not be bent sharply or kinked during installation.
Wiring & Door Activation: The AL6-K01 includes a 24" wiring harness for powering the lighting system. A constant +12V power wire and ground wire get connected to the vehicle electrical system while an illumination wire gets connected to the vehicle lighting system. This allows the fiber optic lighting to be powered on when the vehicle parking/running lights are activated. An optional Door Trigger wire can be connected to the vehicle dome light wire allowing the lighting to be activated when a door is opened, providing additional illumination to your vehicle interior lighting. If not using this feature, the Door Trigger wire must be grounded for operation.
Note: The Vais Technology AL6-K01 fiber optic lighting kit is designed to work only when the vehicle illumination circuit is powered on.
Lighting Control: Control of the Vais Technology AL6-K01 is done using the LitLED app, available at the Apple app and Google Play stores, via a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone. From the app, you can adjust the Color Range, White Balance, and Brightness for each zone, either independently or with both zones synced together for uniform color throughout the vehicle. If using the aforementioned Door Trigger feature to activate the fiber optic lighting when the door is opened/closed, additional controls are provided:
- Dome Light Polarity: Selects negative or positive dome light system
- Illumination Time (door open & door closed): Sets illumination times for both door open and door closed
- Dimming Speed: Sets the dimming speed for the entry lighting
- Front/Rear Zone Brightness: Lets you independently adjust the brightness for each zone
- Front/Rear Zone On/Off: Lets you independently power the lighting in each zone On or Off
A quickstart card with QR codes for Apple and Android devices is included for quickly installing the LitLED app.
