Video: Kenwood Excelon DNN990HD Navigation Receiver

Heads up!

Welcome to this article from the Crutchfield archives. Have fun reading it, but be aware that the information may be outdated and links may be broken.

Kenwood's DNN990HD digital media receiver has its head in the Cloud — it works with Wi-Fi hotspots, like ones you can create in your car with your smartphone or a mobile hotspot device (data charges may apply). From there, you can take advantage of access to web-based content, plus your favorite media across several platforms, including your phone’s apps, your social media feeds, and music you’ve stored online. Once you’ve set up a Wi-Fi hotspot in your car, the receiver connects to the signal; that gets you into the cloud, which is where you can employ connected services for music, video (when parked), social media, navigation extras like traffic and parking help, and more.

Zak: I'm at CES 2013 at the Kenwood booth and Matt's gonna tell us about this really great new receiver, the DNN990.

Matt: So the DNN990 is actually part of our new connected receiver line which offers in-car Wi-Fi for internet connectivity. It will allow connectivity to such entertainment applications like iHeartRadio, AUPEO!, as well as streaming video. You can also connect to a cloud-based service and access any music you have stored there. It also will keep you connected to your social media world by interfacing your email, your Facebook, as well as Twitter. It can also connect to your calendar as well RSS feeds.

Zak: Great. Thanks Matt. That's the DNN990 from Kenwood.
