Hi. I'm Harry Kroll with Pioneer Electronics, and I've come to Crutchfield's office here in Virginia to talk to the sales staff and "train them up" a little bit on the newest Pioneer products. So let's start out with Pioneer's new DEH-P8400BH. This is a single play CD player, in-dash, and it also has built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and streaming audio. So any sort of audio device that you have, it'll stream audio. You can listen to it through here.
It also has built-in HD Radio. And so if you have an iPod plugged in here and you hear a song on HD Radio that you like, you can press the "tag" button, and later on when you plug your iPhone into your computer, fire up iTunes: it'll say, "Hey, do you remember that song? Do you want to buy it?"
Let me plug in an iPod and we'll take a look at the search function that's built in here. Just press the magnifying glass here, and you'll see on the screen we can use the lever button to go to whatever we like. We'll go to "songs," press "enter," and now we can spin the dial and pick whatever song we like — or use the lever button to pick a song, and press "enter," and we're playing that song. It's really just that easy. Now this works pretty much the same way if you've plugged in a USB device.
Another really cool feature of the DEH-P8400BH is MIXTRAX. MIXTRAX is about bringing a DJ experience right there into your car. Plug in some music from your USB or from your iPod or your iPhone, and just press the "MIXTRAX" button right here. When you do that, you'll start to get transitions between songs and you'll see the lights flashing to the music. Now you can adjust that, to you know, kind of suit what you like inside your car.
One of the additional sources that we can listen to on the DEH-P8400BH is Pandora. So with my iPhone connected, I'm just going to press the "source" button to get over to Pandora. And once Pandora is fired up through my phone, I can change my radio station, change the songs, do thumbs up, thumbs down, whatever I like.
One of the cool things that I can do with the DEH-P8400BH is called App Mode. And really what App Mode allows me to do is play almost any audio from my iPhone right through the radio. Now I'm gonna start an application, for example, like iHeartRadio, and choose a radio station to listen to. And I'll choose one and it's fired up and playing on my phone. And once that's done I'm gonna press this little button here called "band". And it's got a little hand holding an iPhone. And that is App Mode. And what App Mode — see the display comes up there — and what App Mode allows me to do is just listen to what's playing on the phone through the car's speakers. Any application that has audio output on the phone, you can listen to it through the DEH-P8400BH.
