Worked for 2005 Honda Element just fine. This kit fits several vehicles. Need to trim some of the plastic tabs depending on the specific vehicle. Not all parts or screws are used.
Pros: Worked well.
Cons: Directions could be better for those who don't do installations very often.

Instructions not for people who can read.
Lawrence from Ft Myers, FL on 2/18/2021
1998 Acura Integra
Absolutely worthless. Instructions not for people who can read. Instructions are geared to those who already know how to use one of these items - because they don't need to use the instructions and just throw them away anyway. That's what should be done with these instructions - just throw them away. Then, since you don't have the instructions, you will throw away the dash kit too, because you'll never figure it out unless you've done a few of them in the past. Go with anything else. I will run this over with my car now...
Pros: I hope it makes an enjoyable noise when I run it over.
Cons: Will pollute the landfill when I throw it away. A waste of precious crude oil to create this worthless ABS. The instructions are a waste of the paper they were printed on.

Ok. Lots of complaints about the instructions. Yes they are not written well, but they were not wrong for my car (Honda Element). My recommendation is to test the fit before you trim tabs to see clearly if the tabs they tell you to remove are right. It is a bit complicated kit but after it is assembled it is solid and not flimsy. Holds the radio snug and in good relationship to the dash.
Pros: Solid when you get it in
Cons: See above reviews

Worst instructions ever. I have an 04 Honda CRV and there are mulitple pages telling you to cut different parts and they conflict with each other. It's a roll of the dice if you get the right page. I'm the guy everyone calls to help them assemble their IKEA furniture so I'm good at deciphering instructions. But this was a jumbled mess. I ended up cutting the wrong tabs and just used duct tape to wrap around my radio and the plastic to keep it in place. What a mess. I can't believe a company so concerned about customer satisfaction would release an instruction book so freaking confusing.

Got this to fit after filing off the majority of tabs on it, also had to cut into the actual cars housing to make it fit. Mounting sleeve from stereo (Dual XDMA350) doesnt fit inside this dash kit, even though it's what was recommended.. so I had to hot glue the stereo in place but everything worked out in the end, just a major headache and a couple days of figuring out what should have been finished in an hour.
Pros: Can use on multiple car models, customizable
Cons: Have to do a lot of cutting to customize to your vehicle

I gave this kit 3 stars because it was satisfactory. It did the job, but wasn't completely easy to install. The plastic side pieces that will bolt onto the radio do not snap firmly into place so it was a bit of a struggle keeping the pieces together while I secured the screws to the radio. Also, the instructions failed to mention that a plastic needed to be removed from the frame in order for my new radio to fit. Despite this I was able to figure it out and the whole system fit perfectly in my vehicle.

This dash kit was decent. The instructions were terrible, though. it told me to see an illustration on page 4 but the only illustration was for a completely different car (an Isuzu instead of the Honda I needed) There was also a bit of confusion with the tabs that had to be cut off and sanded down smooth for it to fit. Again the instructions said to cut off the tabs that were shaded in the picture (5 or 6 tabs, I don't remember exactly), but there was another 10 tabs not shown shaded that also had to be cut and sanded that I had to figure out by trial and error. Unnecessarily time consuming. But it does look good once in the car, it just took longer to assemble it than it did to take out the old radio and wire in the new radio.

Cons: Bad instructions

Read this if you have an 02-06 Honda CRV
Tom from Ridgefield, CT on 7/10/2018
2002 Honda CRV EX
This kit comes with too many parts and things to try to figure out . After reading the instructions and realizing how complicated it would be to use this, I discovered that I could use the mounting brackets from the original unit I was replacing and put them on my new unit. All you will need from the kit is the unit frame if you do this. You may, or may not have to modify the holes on the bracket to get them to match the screw holes on the unit. Remove one bracket, Lay the old and new units side by side and note the position of the bracket on the original. See if there's screw holes on the new unit that will put the bracket in the same position on the new. The top of the bracket should be about 3/8" below the top of the unit and about the same or a bit more from the front, Measure to be sure......If not drill new or enlarge the existing holes in the bracket so you have a match. If you're going to single DIN use just two screws per bracket. Attach the brackets and install in the dash. Now you only need the pocket frame piece from this kit if your going to a single din. You'll need to cut off all of the tabs and you will be able to slide it in and it will fit flush and frame the unit pretty nice just sitting in place. Reinstall the Honda trim and it should be a solid install. This worked for me and I hope it helps because this kit was designed by people with too much time on their hands.

Great dash kit, but one DIN sized cubby storage smaller than stock
Crutchfield customer from Pacifica, CA on 1/23/2018
2001 Honda Odyssey
Crutchfield included this kit with a new one DIN Pioneer car stereo I purchased and installed in my 2001 Honda Odyssey w/o navigation package. Note that the factory Honda auto stereo for that year was a one DIN device with a small storage cubby directly below the stereo. This dash kit also has this storage cubby....but the cubby is smaller..... so small that it would not fit my USB add on box. So....I used a couple of pieces of wood to fashion a simple support that securely holds the stock cubby to the original factory metal bracket. Goes in the dash perfectly. Bottom line...I think this install dash kit is great....I just could not use it because of my need to have the stock cubby's slightly larger storage area.

The final result was the kit worked and looks nice. However getting there was annoying and time consuming, The instructions were poorly written and very poorly organized. Did Not Fit Receiver
PiperDown from Huntsville, AL on 4/24/2017
2004 Honda CRV EX
HON-K828 was sent "free" with radio purchase from Crutchfield (JVC KD-X240BT) - well, you get what you pay for! Not to be too negative, Crutchfield was fantastic with regard to fast service and delivery, and I appreciated the harness (which was great) and the idea beyond an install kit like this. That it was so marginal dampened the great service and other good products, however. It was unfortunate to have to deal with the frustration of this product. With some filing/grinding to the inner dash cavity, it works with a 2004 CRV; but, I found that the JVC radio did not fit within this kit. As all others have said, the instructions were ambiguous, at best, but you could figure it out with patience. The most disappointing of the experience was that I had to literally cut/dremel out most all the face except for a very thin rim to get the radio to fit. The end result looks ragged in places, with a gap at the top that is not concealed by the faceplate. In the future, I will probably search for a different brand and try to get something that will work better and look better. Customers and Crutchfield should note, though, that this might not work with all radios.
Pros: Free with radio
Cons: Did not fit radio envelope - required extensive modification that left somewhat ragged results Ambiguous installation instructions

Installed in my 2004 Honda Element with 270 watt stereo. As others have commented the instruction manual with the bracket were pretty awful. I get that its not made specifically for one vehicle and that's actually kinda cool that its used for other cars. The part that states "Remove every tab" I would have preferred it state every labeled tab be removed. I read that manual 4-5 times to be sure I wasn't going to remove something and it fit badly. I fits but the top part of the trim is a bit saggy. Wish it was a bit more rigid but after removing all those tabs probably weakened that section.
Pros: Looks ok Not too bad for the price I expanded the existing holes in the top of bottom slot bracket to bring in the attached microphone so no dashboard holes or wires showing

Lame but useable
Mainer from Maine on 8/1/2016
2006 Honda CRV EX
Came free with Pioneer stereo from Crutchfield so that is nice but man you can sure waste some time trying to figure it out. BIG HINT: If you have a CR-V or any car it says "cut all tabs off" in the cryotic instructions it means ALL of them ALL THE WAY. Every single one right down to the bone. I used small wire cutters to cut them off then box cutter (careful!) to trim down. Be careful as plastic could easily be broken when you are torquing it to cut tabs. Needs to be more customized and more solid plastic.
Pros: Actually works and looks ok once done.
Cons: Lame-o instructions. Iffy plastic. Too much cutting and trimming to get it right for CR-V.

Added a cheap digital receiver to our 2002 honda crv for my daughter, didnt want to spend a lot and the conversion kit was included with the radio so it was a great deal. converted from dual DIN to single DIN using this adapter, new radio was a very tight fit into the adapter and I had to file down some small pieces to get it to fit in the dash. Once in though it was very solid and looks like a factory install!
Pros: great price (free with order!) fit well, solid. Converts dual DIN opening to single, adds a change tray or place for your phone below
Cons: some user config is required to get it to fit your radio since it is a multi-brand adapter. had to file off all the different vehicle stubs I did not use using a dremel.

Decent dash kit harness
Jeremy from St Louis, MO on 5/31/2016
2004 Honda Odyssey
This was a little tricky to figure out how to install, but it seems to be a decent product.
Pros:
Cons: Using an exact-o knife (box cutter) to cut of the tabs that don't apply to your particular model vehicle can be a bit tricky. I really wish that there was a harness that was already made for our exact model without having to retrofit it into place. An extra screw or two would have been nice since I did drop one into the dash and could not retrieve it.

The mounting kit instructions could use significant improvements for clarity. No explanation of terms such as "DIN" "sleeve", etc. Instructions say, "go to next page," but the next page is not the page you have to go to. For example, at the bottom of page 7, it says go to next page, but means, "go to page 1". I think the information in the instructions is correct, but you'll have to be patient to get through them.

Included for no charge with my stereo - it worked to install the radio, but I had to remove a lot of tabs. The plastic supports were flimsy, but did best if screwed directly into the body of the stereo.
Pros: Free with stereo, fit the dash, screws are in.
Cons: Flush stereo framing was not used as the stereo had a flip-down face. It seemed necessary to skip the metal sleeve around the stereo due to space and screw the side plastic supports directly to the stereo body.

The instructions for this product are awful. You are essentially left on your own to figure out how to install. I spent an hour trying to decipher how this went into my dash. Finally figured it out, and the product fit as expected. Decent instructions would've made the job faster and easier. Hire a tech writer for $15 bucks an hour, for God's sake!

Cheap, flimsy, foreign Crap
jsoc from California on 10/19/2015
Can I give this a negative review? cheap, flimsy, VERY complicated, universal mounting kit. never did get it to work.. Do yourself a favor and go pick up a mounting kit made for your car when your radio arrives.. Crutchfield really blew their reputation when they started sending out this price of crap. Installation took a full day and kit never did fir right, then it broke in half.
Pros: Not a one.....oh wait, it was black.

Dash Kit

2006 Honda CRV LX
Took a bit of checking and rechecking as to what I had to cut off for tabs. The instruction for the kit were bad. Had to use a dermal to cut off the extra tabs and had to do it carefully. I just checked it a few times to the existing bracket in my 2006 Honda CRV to get it right before I cut it. Used side mount screws in the head unit to hole the bracket in place before mounting in the car.
Pros: Worked
Cons: Lousy instructions.

The radio "eventually" fit perfectly. The instructions were confusing which therefore caused a lot of delay because I didn't want to damage the kit. If you take your time and read read the instructions 5 times over it will finally make sense and install easily (at least it did in my CR-V)
Pros: Worked as advertised
Cons: Poor instructions

Installed this in my girlfriends 2005 Honda CRV- Product came broken, the plastic trim that fits around the headunit was snapped in half on one side. I ended up glueing it and made it work, but the entire kit is made of cheap flimsy packaging. Also, having to remove the other tabs is a pain. Does what its supposed to, but I would not buy this kit if there is other options.
Pros: Works, but not very snug.
Cons: -Broken plastic trim -Flimsy -Broken tabs

NoviceInstaller from Michigan on 7/4/2015

This component was my worst ever experience with a Crutchfield product. The instructions were awful (manufacturer instructions - not Crutchfield's). These instructions were not clear for a specific vehicle. The fit/tolerancing was poor, also. Would give a zero or negative star, if available.
Pros: Finally got it to work
Cons: Took me an hour and a half to figure out what I needed to do. Removing "extra" tabs was painful - finally used angle grinder to grind them off.

it works.
Neil from Indiana on 6/17/2015
The worst aspect is the almost useless instructions. Beyond useless, in fact - they are disjointed, confusing and misleading. Most instructions have a section which pertains to all applications, then breaks down in tiers (no pun intended) that which pertains to individual applications. These instructions are broken down into individual operations, and require searching other parts of the instructions for sub-assembly instructions. Ultimately, I set them aside and started to fit the kit parts around the radio on my table until I found the ones that fit the best. Then I went to the part-modification page and removed the indicated tabs (that is the only clear part of the instructions), then fitted the parts around the head unit. After that, I didn't need the accursed instructions at all. Before all of the screws and clips are firmly attached, it is very flimsy. However, once it's tightened up, it is every bit as solid as the original radio fitment (Honda Elefent). It seems apparent that it is designed so that the radio itself is a structural element, rather than merely contained. Also, the single DIN radio is a lot lighter, so needs less structure to support. At least the larger side pieces snap onto the frame as well as held by screws. I added washers to the screws that hold the radio itself, so that the screw head wouldn't mash the plastic, which seemed to help.
Pros: It was free with the radio. Aside from light molding flash, there were no defects, and the quality seemed good. Not if I had to pay for it good, but definitely free good. It fit, after a fashion. It is very sturdy once fully assembled. I have no doubt that it'll be durable as well (assuming proper installation). It makes installation easier than using the old-fashioned metal finger-slicing dash bracket.
Cons: The instructions are more confusing than no instructions at all. The cargo pocket is smaller than there is room for it to be *though, this may be due to its one-size-fits-most nature* The face trim piece doesn't fit around the radio chassis, which leaves a gap between the radio face and dash bezel.

my impression of the Crutchfield reputation is that all the products in my order should be customized to each other and to my car. This mounting was customizable, but I had to do the work. I wanted a kit that was preconfigured for the radio I bought and for my car.
Pros: none
Cons: The tray/bin underneath is smaller than my Odyssey's original one, which was small enough as it is. This one is too small. The mounting tabs for my old tray, which had catch tabs for my old radio, did not work for my new radio. Otherwise I would've used my old tray.

You must read the instructions. For my Automobile almost everything had to be removed. i.e. all of the tabs needed to be removed and filed smooth. The instructions need to be separated apart for each auto. Manufacturing should make separate instruction for each auto instead of trying to combine all together. How much could it cost, I'd pay a little extra. I spent at least 5 hours trying to install, the HIGHLIGHTED everything that pertained to my vehicle then goterdone in less than 30 minutes.
Pros: Works well once you highlight the items in the instructions that pertain to your Automobile
Cons: Confusing instructions. AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL needs to rethink the way they have put together the instruction. I'll be that I could get a 5th grader that could do a better job.

Cheaply made - reminded me of model car kits I assembled when I was a kid, but even more flimsy. I only used the main trim part (that shows at the dash itself) and used the old mounting (side) brackets from the factory radio - SO much sturdier.
Pros: None that I could see, other than it came with the main trim part for the front of the radio.
Cons: Instructions made no sense at all - NO sense to me -

Stereo427 from CityIn, Alabama on 2/12/2015

This kit is very generic. You have to cut off tabs, trim plastic pieces, and do a lot of guesswork. The directions are not real clear but it does work if you figure out how to do it
Pros: If you can trim this kit right then it does work and the radio looks good
Cons: Too generic a kit. Saw reviews of people getting hurt using saws and knives to remove extra plastic (hint - just grab the pieces you have to remove with pliers and bend them back and forth quickly and they snap off). It would be easy to break the wrong thing and render it useless.

Good "universal" product

This item worked very well for my needs. It took a little time to figure it out, but the result is great! Instructions are a bit confusing and took some time to figure out, but with a product that has such versatile application, it's to be expected. This worked fine in my '05 CR-V to replace the factory radio which is a double DIN. With any "universal" item, it is best to carefully read the instructions and "study" your particular application. If you do that, this will work fine!
Pros: Wide range of applications. Sturdy construction. Great fit.
Cons: None. Everything I could expect from a "universal" product!

Solid fit, poor instructions
MikeD from Burlington, VT on 8/20/2014

Good Crutchfield instructions for dash removal, but the universal mounting kit had very generic guidance (cut off all tabs!). I had to go slowly and test fit after each pair of tabs was cut off to insure I was not going to remove a critical bit. Also required a bit of dash opening trimming. It took several hours of careful progress but the result is a clean and tight fit with no mangled or warped parts.
Pros: Good fit, easy dash instructions, complete kit.
Cons: Vague mounting kit instructions, a before and after "trimming" photo rather than a diagram might be clearer.

Pros: Perfect fit with final fitting cap. Also wrote out on the sleeve which tabs I need to keep for my car.
Cons: It took a while to finally get the cage and sleeve put in without bending the cage. That part probably took the longest in the install. Those that are better with arts & crafts would probably fare much better than myself.

Good Fit but Takes Some Effort
Joe from Hudson, NH on 2/7/2014
Used this dash kit to install Alpine head unit in a 2003 Honda Odyssey. Had to read the instructions a few times to get it right. As other reviewers have said, I needed to remove certain tabs for my particular vehicle and the tabs were marked for the Odyssey. Once it was together and it was fairly strong and the radio fit well in the dash kit. Installing the completed unit in the Odyssey was a little difficult as the dash kit was slightly wider than the dash opening so I had to squeeze the sides of the kit to slide it into place. I used the ISO version of the instructions as I didn't have the DIN mounting sleeve for the radio. This installation worked well and the radio and dash kit mounted securely in the vehicle. Overall pleased with this kit but it does take some patience and effort to get to that point.
Pros: Sturdy construction, good fit for the vehicle
Cons: Instructions difficult to understand and many tabs to remove

It looks flimsy, but fits in place. Plan ahead if you have a microphone or rear USB cable. You don't need to be an expert or a technician to install it, but it requires some work and the appropriate tools (see below).
Pros: It fits and looks nice when already in place. It was included in the price of my stereo.
Cons: You must have the appropriate tools to facilitate things (a rotary tool is enough, even a very small one, plus a flat and a Phillips screwdrivers). The instructions included are not very clear.

Crutchfield customer from Enon, Ohio on 4/9/2013
This kit had some parts in it that ultimately weren't needed for my car application, but it wasn't all that clear that was the case from the beginning. The worst part here was removing many plastic "tabs" that couldn't be used for my car and filing them smooth. The kit is designed to accommodate many vehicle configurations, but doing the modifications for my particular vehicle with a sharp utility knife, file and wire cutters was difficult and fraught with the danger of cutting myself. It was also not clear until after I talked to Crutchfield tech support that the original frame that came with the radio head unit was to be replaced by the one that came in this kit. Throughout this entire process, I got the distinct impression that the various engineers and technicians involved had never actually done one of these installations themselves.

Honda In-Dash Kit is Cheap
GMickey from Eureka, CA on 3/17/2013
2002 Honda Odyssey
Even though you guys gave me this kit for free and even though it would have worked, I ended up throwing it away. I don't know what percentage of recently made cars (mine is a 2002 Honda) have a very universal mounting system from the factory... but the fact of the matter is that all I had to do was remove the two small mounting brackets that were attached to the original radio and screw them onto my new radio that I just purchased. Then I attached the factory supplied "thing" that provides a small storage space under my new single DIN radio. The combo fit perfectly. With the kit you gave me, I had a bunch of cheap plastic and a gee-wiz gizmo supplied by the radio manufacturer to slide the radio into your cheap bracket. Seems like Rube Goldberg in action to me. And the results seemed so cheap. Using the factory parts from the original factory radio resulted in a much cleaner installation. You guys should suggest that before the customer try to use the cheap receiver kit that they should simply try to reuse the factory parts. Furthermore, you guys should know for which car and radio combinations, reusing the factory parts will work.
Pros: I guess if its a necessity, this thing might work.
Cons: See above.

Cons: Needs to make clearer on the tab removal for certain models and be clear on the tabs must be removed completely.

eps from New Haven, CT on 12/19/2012
2005 Honda CRV EX
Installed a Sony radio into a double DIN Honda CR-V - everything went together very well... as others have said, you have to follow the instructions very carefully - it's meant for a LOT of models, so be careful when cutting the tabs. HIGHLY recommend a dremel tool to smooth out the tabs after breaking them off with a pair of pliers. Not too high or you'll melt the plastic (like I did). The only real complaint is that the bottom of the 'box' is VERY slippery, so things tend to slide out of it... recommend getting a silicone or other mat and glueing it inside to things stay put (like your mp3 player)
Pros: - Final installation was seamless - looks awesome
Cons: - Instructions are a bit confusing, but in the end made sense - required a Dremel tool to get things just right - storage box is very smooth - things fall out - there's also holes at the back, so don't anything smaller than a penny inside, or they'll get lost deep in the dash :)

Wow, not happy. The instructions are horrible. Not clear at all. This thing is so generic. All plastic. I had to use a hacksaw to cut off the tabs. This is dangerous! I also had to use a utility knife as well to clean it up. The installation should not be this difficult. It was hard to tell what to put where and what parts to use. I have experience with putting in radios and this was the worst kit ever. The radio does not even fit flush with the dashboard. Not a clean fit. I am going to have to go back and rig this to look better on my own. I hope Crutchfield finds a better kit than this.

The kit works fine if you completely remove all the tabs specified. I did didn't initially remove all the specified tabs flush with the surface where they were attached. That was a mistake I had to fix before the kit would fit in my 2002 Honda Odyssey. I found a single hacksaw blade, in an open end grip, worked easier than a knife blade. It eliminated the need for a file to totally remove the tabs.
Pros: The kit fit.
Cons: Unfortunately a lot of tabs had to be removed

Decent kit for multiple cars, fitment not 100%

2003 Honda Odyssey
I've done a few installs before, and most of them had a factory 2DIN cage that came out, and I just replaced the factory units with aftermarkets. This was the first time using an installer cage, and having to build it from multiple parts was a bit confusing at first. The tabs that I had to grind/cut off using my rotary tool (dremel) were initially hard to identify. Fitment of the cage, once assembled wasn't the best but that is probably due to factory variations in the production of the car and the cage materials. Once I had trimmed enough, everything dropped in and screwed in well. It would be nice for the instructions to be updated to say that the tabs have the name of the vehicle etched into them, and that you remove every tab that doesn't have your vehicle's name. Other than that, it made things pretty good, and looks decent in the dash. Doesn't look factory, but then factory audio is terrible so no worries!
Pros: Once assembled, makes the installation a breeze.
Cons: Lots of tabs that need trimming or complete removal. Instructions aren't as intuitive, I actually spent a lot of time reading and flipping back and forth through multiple pages. Contemplated just hacking up the factory mounts just to avoid the installer cage.

There are several plastic tabs that must be removed for kit to fit in 2003 CR-V. Hard to get them cut flush to the body. A Dremmel would be ideal. Diagonal cutters and a file take a long time.

Poor Instructions
GeorgeG from Reno, NV on 2/10/2012
2002 Honda CRV EX
The instructions that came with the brackets were inaccurate. Tried to follow them and just wasted time. Eventually just studied the side brakets long enough to see they had to be broken in half, them filed a little to fit the rest of the mounting harness. Much more logic and McGivering than it should have been. No pictures anywhere to help get you there.
Pros: Once I figured it out, it installed great.
Cons: Without patience and common sense, I would never have done this from the instructions. Had to disregard them almost completely.

The kit is for a range of models, for the 03 Honda CR-V we couldn't use the trim part of the kit, it just would not fit.
Pros: It is pretty easy to assemble once you figure out that the trim doesn't fit
Cons: Instructions are too general

Pros: This was the perfect adapter for my double-DIN application. It looks great and fits great. The quality is excellent. It came free with my radio, too. Cons: The instructions with the unit are very lacking; I almost had to call Support. Clipping off ALL the tabs on the main unit and 2 wings required nippers, an X-acto knife, a file, and a lot of work.

American International installation kit is made for a variety of vehicles. It requires modification of the the kit which includes cutting and sanding. Various pieces fit together for different vehicles. All plastic. For the Honda Element, I chose to reuse the stock metal bracket instead of the plastic mount as I felt it would be more secure on our rough roads. The kit fits the opening with smaller gaps but without the stability offered by the metal bracket, but visually looks better. I installed a JVC head unit which offers tapped holes for screws on the side for the stock bracket which may not be offered by all manufacturers.

Poor fit and a lot of work. I spent more time on this part of the installation than any other. One side did not "snap in" and after several minutes I hoped good enough would do. Looks good in the vehicle but could have been easier.

more intelligence required
Denny from Georgia on 2/6/2011
2002 Honda CRV LX
The instructions were somewhat confusing and could have been more intelligent. Why not a separate section for each make, model, year (or just on-line). This would give the reader more comfort and a lot less paging back and forth and double and triple checking. Also, the instructions were just flat out wrong on one detail, didn't matter in the end.

One look at this mount kit and it had cheap all over it. The plastic seemed very brittle and easily broken. I mounted my new receiver in the chassis and wasn't pleased with it. Upon looking at the factory mount, all metal, I decided to use it instead. As I was removing the head unit from this chassis, it did in fact break. I mounted my receiver in the factory mount using the trim ring from the receiver and it looks great. Not sure how the factory mount works for the double-din Elements, but for the single din, just use the factory mount.

First off, I love the Pioneer Stereo, but the mounting was not correct. I couldnt use the Din adapter that came with the Pioneer, and without it the faceplate didnt fit right. Thr Din adapter wouldnt fit inside the adapter, evena fter I removed all the tabs per the instructions. I ended up using the factory mount with the Pioneer faceplate and it looks fine.

a tad too generic
Albert from Colorado Springs, CO on 8/8/2008
2007 Honda Element LX
Overall not a bad choice. The instructions were easy to follow for my Honda Element, you cut off all tabs. But there were some issues with the kit that affected my radio installation. The supplied screws to secure the radio into the kit were just a little too long for the installation which caused a short which caused the CD player to not work. Not a serious problem as backing off the screw removed the short that was caused. In the case of my DUAL installation, it just touched the circuit board. I ended up using the screws from the Stereo to secure the radio into the kit. They were short enough to not cause a short but difficult to use during the install as you had to push the sides of the kit in order to get the screws to attach to the radio through the mounting sides of the kit. The other issue I had was that the bezel mount that comes with the kit didn't fit over my radio. So there is a slight sag at the top.

Makes for an easy install, and a clean look
Lee from Charleston, SC on 8/25/2006
I bought this kit for a 2006 CR-V, and it worked beautifully. The only difficult time I had with this kit is that you have to cut the extra tabs (i.e. those which are used for other Honda vehicles) very close to the sides, or the kit will not slide into the opening. The instruction to cut tabs out of the corner of the dash is right on. I ended up having to re-trim in this area, because I did not cut enough the first time. Overall, this kit made the installation very easy, and made the stereo look like it belonged in the vehicle.
