Features

Overview: As of 4/8/19, the HSC524 is compatible with select Acura and Honda vehicles. The bracket is designed to allow easy replacement of the factory speakers with select aftermarket 6½ and 6¾ speakers. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

6¾ Speakers: For a 6¾ speaker to fit in the opening of this bracket, the tabs around the inner speaker opening will need to be removed. They are scored along the bottom for easy removal, but still may require pliers and a file.

6½ Speakers: 6½ speakers with a 3-hole or 4-hole bolt pattern can be mounted using the tabs around the inner speaker opening of this bracket (if the hole spacing matches).

5¼ Speakers: While a 5¼ speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of a typical 5¼ is approximately ½" smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6½ or 6¾ a better fit. When using a 5¼, a speaker baffle must also be used to seal the rear of the speaker.

Dimensions:

  • Outer Diameter: 6.665"
  • Inner Diameter: 5.717" (not accounting for the inner tabs)
  • Height: 0.7"
  • Screw Hole Spacing:
    • Three-Hole (6½):
      • Perimeter: 4.498"-5.103"
    • Symmetrical Four-Hole (6½ and 5¼):
      • Perimeter: 3.649"-4.181"
      • Diagonal: 5.203"-5.871"
    • Ford Four-Hole (6½):
      • Minor Axis: 3.649"-4.181"
      • Major Axis: 4.498"-5.103"
    • Four-Hole Spacing (6¾):
      • Perimeter: 4.217"-4.524"
      • Diagonal: 5.918"-6.573"

A
I can't remember if the mounts came one or two in a package, but I definitely had two of them to install two speakers. They were both included for the installation.

I do not recall exactly but they were about 3/8" and just thick enough to get screws into. They did not interfere with the Acura RDX front door panel at all.

Q
Will this fit my 2005 crv? I know they are very similar
[ Ryland  Mar 02, 2019 ]

Sorry, no. We recommend the Metra 82-3412 for mounting 6.5 or 5.25" speakers in the front & rear door locations of the 2005 CRV: www.crutchfield.com/p_120823412/item.html You will need to re-drill the mounting screw holes as well.

will this part fit 2007 crv ?????
[ Douglas  Feb 02, 2019 ]

A
This is the bracket we recommend for installing compatible aftermarket speakers in both the front & rear doors of the 2007 CRV, yes. We'll provide the brackets, free of charge, with your purchase of any recommended speaker models for each location: https://www.crutchfield.com/car/carselector.aspx?lp=%2fCar%2foutfitmycar%2fmycar.aspx I hope that helps. Q
Do these adapters work for both the front and rear deck speakers? If not then could you link me something that will work? thanks

A
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

Q
How do these mount to 6-1/2" speakers? Neither the install instructions from Crutchfield nor the documentation that comes with the mounts shows this.

Hello, I mounted the brackets to the door first using the original Honda screw. I than mounted my Pioneer 6 1/2" speakers to the bracket, which partially covered up the original Honda mounting screw. A few people on Youtube actually drilled out this area so they could mount the speakers to the bracket before mounting to them to the door. I hope this helps.
[ Chris  Aug 04, 2016 ]

Sorry, this was a bit of an open question, as it depends on the speakers themselves. Sure it fits the car door panel, but fitting 6-1/2" speakers depends on the speaker's mount holes overlapping with those of the mount, and their proximity. For mine, there was overlap, but no possible way of connecting them as the proximity was too far relative to screw length. I can only speak for the pairing I purchased, but there was no way of mounting them (not in the car, but as a pair ahead of putting in the car). So the answer depends on the speakers, I think.

It has two clips on the back held together by one fastness. The clip grips when you tighten the fastest at the too.

I have a 2014 acura mdx. They fit perfect on the front and rear door. Good quality product.

Pull your grills up from the rear deck, remove the factory speakers. These brackets mount in place of the speakers. Once they are mounted, set your new speakers on them and secure them. The pre drilled holes werent a great match for my speakers, but you couls drill your own pilot holes if needed.

The only way I was able to mount is do the following. 1 - Mount the bracket to the car using the tabs on the bottom and screw on the top 2 - Mount the speaker to the bracket now in place. Hope this helps!

Q

[ Luis  Jun 10, 2016 ]

A
